On the side molding there's a color matched strip and a chrome strip. Are these two attached - in other words is the molding one piece? I would like to remove only the chrome portion if possible. Thanks.

, jina's upholstery console cover,, hid drivin lites,,
wish list -- more upholstery work.,,, rims, exhaust.. air brushing.
all one piece.
They're actually 2 pieces, taped or glued together. My car was in a minor side-impact accident and the 2 pieces became separated. The previous owner made the repairs, but a portion was still bent off, still separated.
I saw some black 3M tape in between them, (not sure if this was from the factory or from the repairs). I ended up krazy gluing them back together and using a vice to hold them against the door while it dried.
But to answer your question, they are 2 pieces either glued or taped together, so I'm not sure how you'd separate them. (heat it up maybe?)
ahhhh....had i read your complete question i would have said what Craig T said. It is actually One piece on top of another. It can be removed from the door as on piece. HOWEVER, i dunno if the chrome can be removed from the colored piece.
