    Belly Pan Problem

I know some of you have probably had problems with the belly pans bottoming out and getting messed up.....well mine are pretty much CRAP now. They are all torn up and barely there.

My question is how bad is this to be driving around in certain conditions or daily driving. We just got lots of snow and its like a damn snow plow.

Thanks for anyone who can answer.

Some take them off. It's really up to you. From what I hear, it helps with dynamics and maybe keeping some crud outta the engine bay. They are pretty cheap to replace from the dealer.

It shouldn't hurt the car, many that change to an aftermarket facia have stopped using them altogether. If anything its probably better to take it off then to let it drag or hang down any longer... you may want to post in the Wanted to buy section. Someone might be able to get you one cheap!

My GRIP fascia is too low for the bellypan to reach. I run without one fine.

There a few supporting vendors that are Chrysler dealers, they will surprise you if you call, $28 each last time I did mine, two years ago. Ask our supporters first.

keep in mind having the belly pans helps to cool down the motor.they r there for a reason. bellypans along with the fenderwells act like a wind tunnel for the cooling fans.so no air escapes.ive seen some over heat. or u cause ur cooling fans to run longer and cause premature wear.

I took mine off over a year ago, and have seen no difference in engine temp, nor dirtyness of my engine bay. Everything seems fine and unchanged since me removing mine.

    Wind tunnel????

Last I checked, they just hold heat in the engine bay.

There is no advantage to cooling.

I don't live in a dusty area, and have no problems with dirt in the engine bay. I will see some splash up in rainy weather though.

The small front piece ties together your fender wells, and appears to help as an air dam for the radiator area. If you remove that, you'll need to get some twist ties, and secure the front of the fender wells.

They may add to aerodynamics to some degree, but my whale arse Maggie isn't an aerodynamic wonder anyway!

Meister ditched his belly pans a long time ago.

So far this year is the only winter I havent broken mine. I think they have a function and that is why the engineers put them on the car. For air flow, cooling, keep dirt out what ever. It does suck to have them replaced. Im sure going without really wont hurt anything though.
