To 24" Or Not To 24".

    Thats the question.

I am either buying some 24" with 275/25/24
or some 22" with 265/35/22 like my last set of wheels.

Anybody with Pro's and Con's of the 24" wheel set up please let me know. Because If I buy the 4'S I will not have money to instantly fix a rim if a pothole kills the 25 Series tires. Also who has this set up on a 2.7V6?? Does it kill your car,brakes,etc........?

    Thanks.

    Pros? They're big
    Cons? They're big.......................and if you're talking a 2.7L, don't do it. Too heavy!

Thats what I was thinking but I have talked to 3 people with them on the Baby Motor and said they work well. I hate making decisions.

I've got 'em on the half step-up motor (3.5L) but I think what benefits me is that I run the Predator and drive an AWD. Hence, each corner spins it's own wheel.
When I went up from my OEM 18's to the 24's I gained 30lbs per wheel, from 53lbs to 83lbs.
Just do some good research from all angles before you make your decision.

    Experience

I have 24's and the 2.7. My wheels weight 80+lbs. No problems. I think the 24's look best on this car. I would say it has to be a personal choice. My only advice would be to consider the roads that you travel. If your roads are bad either get another tire size in 24 or go with the smaller wheel. The roads where i live are terrible but I still ride them. I've bent one of my wheels and had to have it repaired. Cost like 180 to fix. Then I bent that same wheel again and I'm going to have to drop it off tomorrow so I can be clean for the fourth. I put back on my stocks to also help save on gas and the added weight will make you burn more gas (more food for thought). Hope this helps.

I wouldn't do it. We just had a customer that had 24's on his 300 change over to 22's. Seems he hit a pothole and took out 2 rims and 2 tires. That was a very expensive pothole for him.

22's are the better bet... I went with 22's on my 2.7 and looking back I am thinking 20's would be better....

24 is too big IMHO. I don't even like most 22's. But that's just my opinion.

Ok, first let me say... 22's or 24's would be really cool. HOWEVER, I spent many years as a suspension tech for General Motors... and nothing RUINS the suspension components more than wheels that are too large and not designed/engineered for the car. Larger wheels really mess with the geometry of the suspension and wreck havic with bushings and steering components. The additional weight and offsets totally change the way the car was designed to ride and function. I have even seen control arms and other suspension pieces crack and fatigue... causing potentialy a dangerous situation or even an accident. I am not trying to rain on anybodys parade, but just beware.. the suspension will wear out quicker.

if you get 22's you will see guys on 24's and say damn I should have. If you want them just do it and leave with the issues that may come up.
    Good luck
Ezekiel 25:17."The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

go with 24"s had them for over a year and a half, none bent. and I drive my car hard. But I would reccomend the 255/30/24 tires to give you a lil more meat then the 25 series.
