I think it was still working. The car drove fine after wards. Had to go out of town for the week so I'll try again when I get back next week

Great update....back when I bought my car, before the predator was available...if you would have told me there would be something like the tranzformer in a few years I would have thought you were crazy. Mad props for a great product!!

Yeah bro, get her installed! You're gonna love it. I've still not updated mine. Just been too busy. This damn box does so much, I had to print out a list of all the functions and corresponding commands just to remember them, lol. I keep it in my glovebox. Now that's a statement.

Just updated mine finally.... You guys would have laughed at me, it's been so long, I reached in to where I thought I had it installed and pulled out wires with the connector on it. WTF? It's gone? But I was using it a couple of days ago...
Then I remembered... Oh yeah, still have the wiring in there for the beta unit. Duh... the production one is on the left side below the steering wheel, not the right side... Ooops.

I'm updating mine tonight as well. Can't friggin wait. I'm telling ya, I love my Tranzformer as much as my diablosport predator well, trinity now.
Please help me!! i just received my TranZformer (purchased form another member), it had V1.16 on it so i wanted to upgrade to the latest.. i plugged in the box to my laptop and it loaded the drivers, (FT232R USB UART and com port); i started up my 'Z Automotive Programming Utility' and life was good... ran program, clicked 'get version' V1.1.6.0606 came up so i ran 'select firmware' and pointed to the downloaded file 'ZES_042712.zfw' and clicked upgrade.. program ran through and said it was successful. i clicked on 'get version' again to see the change and i comes back 'Not able to read version' .. i closed out of the 'Program' and went into 'Configure' and it can't find the TranZformer anymore... I have rebooted, tried a differnet USB port but still nothing.. when i connect to the USB i do see in my device manager under 'Unspcified' a 'FT232R USB UART' and also Com6 shows up but the 'Z Automotive Program Utility' still does not recognize of find the box!

Here is what Joe sent me one time when this happened:
A bad upload of firmware: Unplug the Tranzformer from the car - plug it into the PC only. It should flash red/green for 5 seconds (boot-loader), then to a slow green blink. Then open ZPU => program, and the program should find it.
If it doesn't find it, there are 2 ways to get it to recover. One is to unplug the USB cable, open ZPU, click program, choose the COM port that it will be on manually, then click "select firmware" and point to the right one, then plug in the USB cable and hit "upgrade" before the 5 second boot-loader is up.
If that doesn't work, then I can have you pop the cover off, short 2 pins, and repeat the above. Or send it to me and I'll fix it and send it right back. It doesn't happen often (where an upgrade goes bad) but it can happen.
Thanks Steve, but no luck.. when connected i don't get any LED action so apears the boot-loader might not be running at all? id did try to setup the program on the correct com port then run the 'upgrade' before 5 seconds,, i get the same 'Failed: No data is available to read' error i get even if the unit is connected first..
i did pop off the cover but there are no obvious pins to short (everything is surface mounted so no pins or jumpers.. hopefully Joe will be back on the site soon and can help me out

I have the same issue. None of my pc's will recognize the tranZformer... I've tried everything. The ZPU installer program won't show anything but Com 3 either, so I can't point it elsewhere. I don't even know what firmware is in it. It won't let me see it.

What effect...if any...would this have on a car with a Southern Hot Rod or Paramount Tranny with their already hard shifts???
Man, I LOVE my TRANZFORMER. Best mod for the tranny, second only to the predator overall for my taste. This thing does SO MUCH that I had to make a list of all the functions and print them out. I keep it folded in my center console of my Superbee. I love how we can now adjust firmness of the shifts from the steering wheel while cruising down the street. Un believeable.

joe i have not done any updates on my car since i installed the beta version.. is this only for the non beta versions.. sorry i have really not been following these as car was tore apart and undriveable for over a year....
