    SPHINX POWER

    Hey everyone, Anthony here. We know that search has really been lacking as of late (duh, understatement of the year). We've had our share of crashes, slow results, etc...

    Well, that is (hopefully) all going to end now.

    We upgraded our search functionality today to the massively awesome (and amazingly crappy to install) Sphinx Search. (Are you a geek? Want more info on the Sphinx project? Click HERE...otherwise, skip over that, it's all boring stuff anyway)

    Anyhoo, the site search should be MUCHO quicker now with better results. So how much faster is it? Well, searches that took over a minute now takes less then a second! That's like putting a 392 with a blower and nitrous in a Neon....

    But wait, there's more!

    Even better? You can now search your PM's as well. Woohoo!



    As cool as this all is, we'll be monitoring the new search functionality and consider it "beta" right now. If we note any bugs or mass blow-ups, we will pull it. But for now, enjoy the faster search (and as a result, faster website!) and being able to search your PM's!

    One day down and things seem to be working really good. Hope you all are experiencing super fast searches.

    I believe many search operators are also now available, I'll see if I can get a list of them and post 'em up.

    It just took me a mere .09 seconds to search for the first time I said "indeed" on this forum...

    I'm not sure if this is related, but i normally click on my name at the top and click "find latest posts" on the left to jump back into my prior conversations. After this Sphinx update went in the latest results are from 5/17, losing a week worth of results. I can manually find my posts and they are there, but it seems like my first page of results (even though i am on page 1) is completely missing from the basic view with no search criteria entered.

    Bone stock time: 12.832 @ 108.51 with a 2.033 60ft... On GY F1's Full Weight
    Predator and C&L Intake: 12.386 @ 111.78 1.868 60ft On GY F1's Full Weight
    Current mods: Hi-Flows, 180. Volant, PS Cooler, Trans Cooler, SS Brake Lines, Ti Backing Plates.
    Pedders Track II Extreme, Wavetrac, Moroso oil pan/catch can, 6.1 MTCM, Mopar trailer hitch.

    Yup, I see what you are referring to. Looks like the index has not updated since the initial indexing. I'll take a look at that. Thanks for the head's up!
