The Great Intake Face Off!

So you want some extra horsies and there are some intakes/performance air filters that have caught your eye.....but which one do you buy?

Our very own CoolVanilla is conducting a non-biased face off between four different intakes currently on the market, measuring increases in horsepower and sound levels using the stock vehicle as a baseline. Each intake will be dyno'ed on the same vehicle on the same day.

The air suckers in the face-off include:

Volant
K&N Drop-in
K&N Aircharger
Mopar Intake

Ok, it looks like the balance of the fund is at $555+ with a goal of $400. I was going to contribute, but it looks like I don't NEED to. Is this correct?

Now, what is the schedule? Have we decided what day the test will take place? I'm getting anxious to see the results as anybody. :D

Well, this has got to be a personal decision. Some folks contribute regardless of the goal, others don't. I won't hold back the results from anyone, so really its a matter of how you wish to support the effort or not!

Test schedule: there are two holdups at this point: the Volant and Mopar. The Volant is supposed to ship this week, although I've received no indication it has. The Mopar is on back order and MSC is thinking 2 weeks. This is still inline with the original time estimate though so I feel pretty good about waiting for it. If the Volant shows up and the Mopar is still on back order two weeks from now, we'll take another vote and see if contributors want to wait.

I don't think you need to, but the extra was supposed to go to CV's intake of choice since he is doing all of the testing for everyone. At least that's the way I recall it.

What about the 360 Air Intakez? They have intakes for all 3 models of magnum as well.....

Incorrecto. I checked the 360 sight for someone who has a 2.7L. They don't have one yet.
