    Big News for DM.Net!

    Ready for some big news?

I have been in talks with Dave, the owner of dodgemagnumclub.com to combine the two sites INTO one. We have come to a decision that I think will benefit all of the members to provide the best service and make everyone enjoy their time at the site(s).

Sometime within the next week or two (if all goes as planned), DodgeMagnum.Net will not exist as you now know it. (Well, not really...but keep listening).

    Huh?

OK, DodgeMagnum.Net (as well as the other domain names, Chrysler300C.Net and TheNewCharger.com) aren’t going away, they are just going somewhere………….new.

    Whatchoo talking about Willis?

The existing phpBB2 board will be imported INTO the newest version of VBulletin (version 3.07). That means all of the members; (all your posts and all your private messages) will be intact. So, in essence, not much is changing. What does this mean to you? Not much really. The site will probably be down for a couple days over the weekend while we do the transfer (though with the way the site is running now, you probably won’t notice the difference!) Note: If you are currently a “Site Supporter”, have no fear; you will STILL be a “Site Supporter”.

For those familiar with DodgeIntrepid.Net, it is the same forum software used by Randy on that site.

    So what’s the big deal?

The big deal is that now you are not only upgrading to a more user friendly message board, but now you are receiving the resources of two websites that will be merged INTO one. The new forum will be hosted on DodgeMagnumClub.com, but it will be a place for ALL LX owners to hang out and talk about these great cars.

So besides a new forum, what else has changed?

With the switchover to dodgemagnumclub.com comes something you have been asking for quite a while. The availability of an official club. While only the Magnum Club is setup right now, the addition of a club for all vehicles in the LX line is forthcoming.

Is Rev. Hammer going to be there?

    Yes.

    Help?

If you need help after the transfer, you are more then welcome to continue contacting whom you have prior to the transfer. Myself, KW, E8502, Jim and MagnumFreak are all going to be in the same relative positions we are in now, though Dave will be assuming ownership of the domain names.

Go on over and CHECK out DodgeMagnumClub.com! We should have everything up and running in a short amount of time (cross your fingers!). The existing forum on dodgemagnumclub.com will be replaced/merged with the contents of this forum but the finished product will look very similar to what is there currently.

This is very exciting and I’m positive that you are going to love the new board! (The Knowledge Base will be imported shortly after the transfer, but it may be down for a few days.)

Any questions? Feel free to ask!

As always, thanks for making us the best LX Site on the net! There's great things in the future and I'm glad to share it with all of you! 8)

WOOO HOOO!!!! Mergers are (usually) a good thing. Hope the forum continues to thrive and even though our content is moving to their site, I know we have more members/posters so I welcome them to our lineup. Hopefully we can have a successful merge and equally gain FROM the knowledge and experiences of others.
Man's biggest mistake is to believe that he's working for someone else.

I think this is an excellent idea. More people = more power. Also, before this goes too far, remember what MAGNUM8R said about a month ago...

    I nominate MAGNUM8R for LXOM

If you are going to be down, give us plenty of advance warning so I can get my spring yard work done, wax the Magnum, etc.

Could this possibly be our LAST LXOM at our current home!??!!?!?!?! '8R definately has my vote as well. Arranging the whole Lake Elsinore event was an amazing feat, and it was a great day for all involved. I second the nomination and hope he wins it.

Thanks again '8R...I had a great time!

Yes, MAGNUM8R should be given a big kudos for putting us in contact. He has my vote!

BTW, since the site is running so horribly, I have held out doing the LXOM nominations for April. But, I'll try and get the nominations up shortly.

Also, I'll try and give as much advance warning as possible as to when we go down. It should only be a day or two. Also, again...since the site is running so bad I hope to have the import done sooner rather then later for everyone's sanity! :D

Big news of course, but as always, I'll be around if anyone needs help or has questions. I'm sure we'll move without a problem.

Maybe the thinking is too different over there to do it, but what about merging 300cforums.com and this one as the nucleus for the 300C portion of the new site here? There's a GROUP over there now forming "Club300" and the forum is very active, more than this one really. The direction of Club300 seems less organized than I would like, but it's probably a good start. I'm not sure where dodgemagnumclub.com is going. Our merger should give it a real good start.

Out of each of these forums, there is the potential to create a heck of a real international car club. Maybe organized similar or better than we did with the Chrysler 300M Enthuiasts Club (www.300mclub.org).

I've been holding off on joining Club300 waiting to see what else is gonna happen. I think an LX Enthusiasts Club is the way to go rather than one focused just on the 300 or the Magnum, or the Charger. etc.

Given my experience with the lack of wide spread participation by members of the 300M Club, the more members we can combine, the better the success. HAVING two or more major competing (maybe too strong a word) car clubs may not be best in the long run. We're all LX Enthusiasts and we should all come together if possible.

    Thoughts?
