Bentley continental GT Vs 300C SRT8, I finally got to try one out :-D

It was at a birthday party this weekend, a friend of a friend I finally got to meet brought his Bentley over. I have always loved those cars and it has been a dream of mine to get into one even for a few minutes. I really enjoyed the experience and pretty suprising I was not at all "disgusted" to get back into my 300. I actually really love my car even more now. The similarities between the two cars are astounding. The spacious rear seat of the 300 Vs the cramped rear seat in the bentley were suprising to say the least. Of course everything is a lot more luxurious and higher quality and I really enjoyed it. It lived up to what I was expecting on every aspect. Even putting aside the fact that my supercharged 300 is faster than the GT or even the GT SPEED, it didn't matter I still loved both cars. Plus it's AWD and height adjustable suspension on the fly would just put me to shame in the snow. The owner was a real class act and let me do what I wanted with the car. I must say the automatic trunk that opens and closes completely at the touch of the "B" on the emblem was simply too cool. So here are some pictures of that great experience. Yeah I know I look like a kid in a candy store with a stupid smile on lol it was the flash that's all (yeah right).

Nope it's all-wheel drive, but who cares. It's a Bentley, it doesn't need a burnout.

It looks super cramped in there. And from what I hear they aren't very fast at all. But regardless it's still a pretty sweet ride. Thanks for sharing!

???? I don't really get the point but anyways... I've never honnestly liked Steetforce and what they do to cars like cavaliers and others... It's mabe cool when you're 16years old but you can't take them seriously when you used to walk into Acces Chevrolet in Varennes and the salesman would offer you a street force package for a new sunfire... I was never into the tuner scene. But hey everyone is entitled to their opinions and can do whatever they want to their cars.

I just find it funny that you mention high end cars at street force but yet none appear on their site. One would think they would put those up for credibility.

Anyways this was not the point of my thread so let's cut this thread jacking and get back to the subject at hand. The Bentley.

    Gorgeous Car!

Too bad the steering wheel is on upside-down, though.

Try changing the Bentleys' plugs out in the driveway & see how much you like your 300.

You are correct, it is absolutely cramped in the back. I am 6'1" and there is less than adequate room in the back. But I want to drive this car, not ride the back seat....unless...I'm with a super hot chick. LOL Or you can look at it this way : if she fits in the back step inside, if you don't step aside.

As for them being "slow" it's partially true. They are "kinda" slow. The continental GT (the one in the pictures) does 12.9 and has a top speed of 198MPH (318kmh), the GT SPEED does 12.5 and has a top of 204MPH (328kmh) then the SuperSports does 11.8-12.0 depending on your sources 0-60 in 3.7 and a top speed of 205 MPH( 330kmh) and also had the world record on ICE, yes ICE at 205.48mph (330.6kmh) plus they used the convertible! Not to bad for a car that weighs around 5200lbs.

That's the best you can do? just kidding dude but yeah I do LOVE my 300.
And I thought the 8000$ carbon ceramic brakes were horrible on the wallet

My bother in law had that car before selling it to his buddy. He got it at 5000km then only had to do the service on it at 25000km and 50 000km that cost around 4000$. I think that isin't at all bad considering the type of car and keeping in mind that these are ultra reliable and he drove it all year for over 3 years, snow and all with no problems at all.

Below is a site that confirms this, kinda.
quote from this site Cost of Ownership of an Exotic Luxury Car

    "
    2) Bentley Continental GT

The Bentley Continental GT has always been one of my all time favorite daily drivers. It is a superb blend of luxury and sport, refined by an unmatched quality of craftsmanship found all over the car but it does come at a price. The cost of ownership on the Bentley makes it the second most expensive car to maintain in our line up. Basic oil changes will run you $500 annually, while yearly service will vary from $1400 to $2500 depending on what you need done. We estimated that the average cost of driving a 2005 Bentley GT 10,000 miles per year was $3200 assuming nothing broke. The cost of the maintenance on the Bentley is not that bad, but can give you a heart attack should it break outside of its warranty period. Most dealer charge over $140 an hour to work on Bentley cars and parts are rare and expensive, but more importantly almost non existent in the aftermarket world. You better have a great relationship with your Bentley dealer."

Is it me or does the shifter look almost as the one in the 300. Just with a Bentley emblem on it.

Yep good eyes dude! I forgot to mention that.

I'm telling you guys the similarities are mind blowing, everything is roughly in the same place. Even the seats feel the same :-)

Thanks, sometimes they see the little things
Maybe some guys who have a Bentley grille will buy it, although I am sure it will cost an arm and a leg. On a side note the Phantom is my favorite dream car, would take a Continental too of course.

I am thinking of the Rolls Royce Phantom which are kind of slow. Older ones did mid 14 seconds if I remember right. ANd you are definitely right about the back seat!
