Another AMP story
Just a brief history, before I get to the story. Most of you don't know me, but I recently. Decided to install Zex nitrous kit in my 300 SRT8. I'm new to nitrous and had a ton of questions, which Scott had no problem answering here on the forum. Last weekend, I finally finished the nitrous install and decided to try it out.
I began with a simple 75 shot and the car had a nice, steady pull. Everything seemed to go fine, until I got up in the morning and started the car up. I heard an inconsistent clacking sound from the engine. Definitely not a noise that you want to hear, just after making your first nitrous test. The next morning I emailed Johan and asked him who he trusted in my area. He directed me to Afterhours Mopar Performance. I emailed Scott, and within about 3 minutes, I had an email back. After a few questions, he determined that he had to see tha car. He was able to fit me into his busy schedule, the next evening.
Took him the car the following evening and within a few minutes of speaking with Scott, I realized this was the shop that would handle any work that I couldn't. His knowledge and the way he talks to his customers, IS THAT GOOD. Left the car within him for diagnosis and by the next evening, I had a phone call with very good idea of what him and Jon thought the problem was. I expected the worse and was relieved, when he told me they thought it was a bad lifter. He quoted me, what I thought was, a very fair price. Even suggested that I s=could by the parts myself from the local dodge dealer, since I work at a dealership and could get a pretty good discount. But being in the business myself, I understand that he needs to make his money too. I had no problem with him getting the parts himself and charging me a fair markup.
Now this was wednesday, that we had the conversation. He said that if everything went well, I would have the car back by Saturday. I thought to myself, no way is he gonna be able to pull the head, replace the lifters and reinstall. Remember, these guys both have day jobs and do this work after their day jobs. Hence the name "Afterhours". To my surprise, I get an email last night, telling me that the car is ready and I could pick it up Saturday. Picked the car up about 2 hours ago and it's noise free and runs perfect.
Now to what I haven't told you. This is my WIFE'S DAILY DRIVER. Now you could imagine what was going through her head when i told her, "baby. I'm putting a nitrous kit on your car". Then you could imagine the words that came out of her mouth when I told her, "baby, I tested the nitrous and now your engine is making a noise". Not a good day in my house. So in the end, Scott and Jon pretty mush saved my from an ass whoopin. Being in the automotive business my self, I know how quick customers are to complain. And I know how important word of mouth is. So to anyone in the South Florida area, or willing to make the drive from wherever. You will not be disappointed with the service and price that you get from Afterhours Mopar Performance. Thank god they're not closer to me. Cuz the wife would beat my ass everytime that I dropped the car off, for some more performance work to be done. Lol!!
Thanks guys for the awesome service and price!!!!!
