Anyone have the scoop on when the JGC is getting the 8 speed transmission?

I have been waiting for the 2013 with the 8-speed to replace our '04 Grand Cherokee. It is my understanding that the 8-speed won't be available now until late in the 2013 model year, so I went ahead and bought a 2011 with 3.6/5-speed two weeks ago.

After two weeks of driving it..... no regrets. I think it's a great vehicle and the 3.6/5-speed combo works really well.

I've heard the SRT 8 will get the 8 speed early next year. Not sure of the V6.

Not that yours is.broke in yet but what kind of MPGs are you seeing?

Haven't checked the MPG's, but I am getting over 500 miles to a tankful. I see gas stations twice as often in my Charger.

Driving an Overland and saw 24mpg with mixed driving. Only had 50 miles on it to start out so there's room for improvement.

Have a 12 Overland 3.6 with the new saddle/black interior and we are very happy with it. Got it this past December and have almost 5K miles on it now. It holds 24.6 gallons and has a 500+ mile range and we have been getting 17-18 in town and 24-25 mpg on the hwy..
