This car is going to reset the current record on our dyno of 1776rwhp.
I know it's not a LX but thought you might like to see this. (I apologize for the crappy phone pictures...)
It has been my observation that the Pittsburgh, Pa. area consistently produces some of the fastest street driven cars in the country. I am just thankful to be acquainted with some of these folks and have the opportunity to "tinker" on their cars. This weekend I got together with an old friend who is finishing up a new build on an old street race car. Prior to going "under the knife" this car ran mid 8's in street trim. Anyone following Hot Rod magazines "Drag Week" series realizes 8's are way too slow......
Be careful if you line up against this mild looking all steel (no fiberglass) Fairlane......
And the really cool thing was this car was sitting right next to it!

If we could just get a few more head bolts in these Gen III Hemi's I think we could make them fly like these engines!
Here's the engine on the '57

i can picture woodland creatures being plucked from the trees and sky when this revs up. I can only imagine what it sounds like on a public road when you put it to work. My big concern would be stopping it after doing something foolish.

I only worry about stopping them on the dyno. The street or track is a whole different story. Do a YouTube search on the 57 Chevy, he manages to stop it.

Then someone went even faster:

Remember, these cars have to drive 1000+ miles in five days and run at 4 different dragstrips. No support vehicles allowed and no one is allowed to help except your passenger. If you call in a support vehicle/trailer you're out of the competition.
We had a guy in my town back in 63 or 64 with a burgundy colored Thunderbolt. That was one of the fastest street cars around.
