Mike i think the rules on here have been that it must be your car and you driving to even get in the timeslip database. I may be off track here but i could let a bunch of people drive my car and get on this list? I only do know that the thread you took over from the track section it had to be your car and you driving. Has this changed?

5.7 N/A 11 second club Best times to date:

1/4 mile E.T. 11.696 @ 114.24 mph.
1.60 60 ft. best
Jason, I would normally agree with you.
However, in this case I have been in possession of Kent's car for several months and he can't drive it being close to 800 miles away. Not to mention Micah and I have been doing all of the maintenance, wrenching, rewiring, tuning, paying for the racing entry fees, tolls, hauling expenses, wear and tear on my truck and trailer, storing in it our garage, washing it, selling the used parts and delivering them to UPS etc. just like any owners.
So it's quite a bit different than just "letting a bunch of people drive your car".
It's not really a big deal anyway, it's only 100th faster than Kent, he weigh's less than me, the DA was terrible and we are confident based on the dyno times that my time will fall shortly with Kent behind the wheel again.
Also, I haven't asked for a football for this very reason.
If it's a real issue for folks I can make a note in the table indicating I am not the owner of the car or something indicating I was driving Kent's car if that would make things better?
I did however run the current 5.7 N/A fastest time and it probably should be recorded somehow?

Wow all THAT work for a whole 0.001 faster! Got to be the driver! LOL
It doesn't seem fair that I have to sit around in the heat of summer and watch you have ALL the fun! I wish I had a car like this!!!
BTW, how many times have you raced your GTX this season???
All kidding aside, I loaned Mike my car so he could learn first hand some of the nuances of our Lx/Lc platforms so he will become even a better Lx/Lc tuner. Thus helping our entire community with some fresh ideas.
I vote Mike stays on fastest NA 5.7 list, even though he if he is the fastest in the land. He has "owned" a Lx for the past three months and is willing to put in the time and effort to keep list currant.
As far as the Football, the Lx rule requires the owner to drive the car.

Here is my two cents:
I think it's misleading to have the same car in the database with different drivers.
I mean maybe not, but James didn't post his slip in BigAl's TT chally, he just mentioned it in his sig and in it's own thread, which is where I think slips like this belong.
Yes it's awesome and the fastest to date, but not your car. Two spots in the fastest thread makes it seem as if you and Kent are in different cars.
I think that what you guys have done with Kent's car is great and is helping push the boundaries of our engines. You guys are doing an amazing job.
I do have to say it, and I know I'm not the only one thinking it... it's a forged motor, and so it's bypassing the fragility of the stock 5.7 bottom end, which is the heart of the 'budget racer' 5.7 NA class.
The 5.7 stock bottom end can make a lot of power, but has it's limitations which we've found. Raising the compression past 11.5 is just driving a time bomb. Ask anyone who's tried it for any extended amount of time... they blew their motor.
Do I think that Kent's car is an unfair advantage? No more than a guy who has a head/cam package on his car against a guy that doesn't... it just comes down to money. Kent's car is still 5.7 displacement, and you(er one of you) still has to line up and drive it against the guy in the other lane.
Personally I wouldn't build a forged motor and keep it a 5.7, but hey that's what's great about this forum, seeing what others do. Plus I'm sure there will be 'trickle down' of things learned on Kent's car that I can incorporated into my own.
But, back to the topic at hand...
I do applaud the accomplishments Mike, Kent and the others involved with his build, have achieved. It's awesome to get to 11.5 with a 5.7. CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!!
I don't think that Mike and Kent should get two spots in the Fastest 5.7 thread, as it's the same car. Pick one and post that time.
I think Mike should post a thread about it, that way there is a record of it.
Also, IMO this thread should be moved to either the 'At the Track' section or '5.7 Engine' section, but that really isn't part of the discussion at hand.
Ok so maybe that's more like a Quarter than 2 cents, but that's my take on it.

The Old: Stock 5.7 Bottom End | Lead Foot | 11.861 @ 112.76 1.63 60'
The New: Forged Arrington 6.1 | MMPG Top End | Paramount Drivetrain | 11.67
My two cents, the table is for fastest 5.7. That implies the car. The driver is not important.
I agree Don. This has nothing to do with the footballs that are handed out. I remember when people thought it was a good thing to test the boundaries, or maybe it is only a good thing for certain people to test the boundaries.
Mike and Kent have pushed the envelope on this build. It is no different than what James and AJ have done in the stroker class. So, I'm not sure why some people are getting so butthurt over this build.

RIP Lou
I guess my post was misleading...
All I ment was that some people are thinking it's unfair that Kent's motor is forged and my point is that it's the same as having heads and cam vs someone who doesn't... it's a mod and it's inside the rules. No worries, or complaints on that issue (is it an issue?).
I love that Kent has a forged 5.7, so that he can test and push things farther.
I'm not against his build or that he's pushing the boundaries... not one bit.
I'M ALL FOR IT.
It's cool to see how far Kent can push this displacement, maybe he can run with the 392s or even 426s one day. We can't know unless we try.
My only concern is having the same car listed twice in a thread about the fastest 5.7.
That car should get one spot, not two.
We're not listing every slip for each of the 5.7s out there... we are listing their fastest passes for the year.
So, that being the case, Kent's car should have one spot, I really don't care who's driving it, and update that spot/car for the year.
Is that mo' betta?

The stock bottom end will last to 10's id say. My car had a ton left in it but, ran it out of oil. I wouldnt be supprised at all to see low 11's high 10's stock bottom end soon.
High Comp 392.
