Can someone show me how to post an Excel spreadsheet or Excel Table

I don't want to add an attachment, I want the sheet to show in the thread. I can upload it to Photobucket as an image then link it in but really want to be able to update a spreadsheet often and keep the actual sheet in the original thread.

Can anyone give me some pointers?

    Thanks!

I think the administrators of the board here would have to allow .xls extensions in the vbulletin extension manager so that your spreadsheet can be uploaded. You could try and convert the .xls to .html and and try a copy paste, but that opens the door for a lot of security issues, so that's probably disallowed as well.

I think I know what you're after and it could be a good idea to tabulate type of mods on member rides so one can easily find out if something works rather than endles searching for threads ...

I"d PM one of the mods and get a definitive answer ...

not the proper way but you can take a sreen shot (PrtScn) and paste it in the Paint prog, save as a .JPG upload to Photobucket (or similar host site) and then add it here like a regular photo.

Select the area from the excel file you want to copy.... (Right click upper left cell, then drag to lower left cell. Right click on highlighted area, select copy.

Open Microsoft Paint, Click "Edit" then select "Paste"

Size the area to fill the whit space, save file then upload to photobucket.

    Yep..
Just highlight cells, copy, and then paste into Paint. Then you can save as .jpg, .gif or .bmp.

I think I found a way. You'll need to create a G-mail account so you can use google docs. Then you can import the excel spreadsheet and set the file so that anyone with that link can view the file.

    For example:

    https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?...thkey=COTs0uAP

Here are instructions for setting up the sharing: http://docs.google.com/support/bin/a...44&topic=28194

Thanks for the suggestions. However, as I mentioned I am trying to avoid the process of:
    1. screen printing,
    2. saving to paint,
    3. uploading to Photobucket,
    4. then linking in the screen shot.

I am trying to create a "dynamic" table that will most likely be modified many times each week. I also would like viewers to be able to view the table/spreadsheet instantly and not have to open an attachment (similar to what you would see in an inserted photobucket screen shot).

I have also tried to save the spreadsheet as html and link it here but that didn't work.

I can save a spreadsheet as a .pdf and upload the .pdf from my PC and link it into a post like this:

    This is weak...
    Attached Files Attached Files

This is getting closer to what I'm trying to do! If I could just have the sheet open in the post it rather than having someone go to the link it would be what I'm looking for.

I also see "Table" tags in the option for inserting into a post. Does anyone know what these are for?

    Thanks!

That's pretty good - can you make the spreadsheet updatable by anyone ? (i'll go read the instructions later on tonight - probably in there as well)

You can post an active Excel spreadsheet to the Internet.
    http://www.brighthub.com/computing/w...les/21435.aspx

But for others to edit it, they may also need Excel (licencing issues).

    More choices...

Most forums don't (and shouldn't) allow Excel files and other file types to be attached due to security risks.

Just to clarify... I don't want an active Excel sheet on the forum.

I want to post the results, output, screen print etc. with out having to do the screen print, Paint, Photobucket, update link routine every time I make an update. I do want the output to appear as below (or similar to this): BTW - there are "table tags" on the same line as the "insert image, insert email link, insert YouTube tags, etc." Maybe this will work?

Here's what I want folks to be able to see when they come to this thread:
