I am thinking about trading in my 2012 R/T R&T for a 2008 SRT Challenger any thoughts?

If you want power, then go for it. Ones a 2 door ones a 4 door depends what you need.

I say go for it. I miss my Challenger. If I could do it over I would have gotten a Challenger srt.

Well, considering how much of a hit you would take on that trade in, you might want to do the math. If you think it is worth what you'll loose on the trade in value then go for it. Hard to put a price on the emotions an SRT8 Chally will bring to you.

I'd miss the interior of the 2012 too much, also I'd move forward..not back. If it was mine I'd drive the Charger for 2-3 years and then consider swapping for a 'Cuda after those come out.
After thinking about it I love the Challenger but it has 420 hp and that is not really that much more than my Charger.I think I will wait till I can get a good deal on a Challenger with a 6.4, unless someone comes out with a tuner for my Charger so I can get a blower.![]()
a friend has a 1st gen 300 SRT8, and he felt my '11 R/T from a standing stop or low speed roll on wasn't appreciably slower than his SRT8.
if the chally had a heavily modded 426CID gen III hemi, I still would pass--I couldn't live with the downgrade in interior.
I agree with others, keep the charger, wait and see what comes down the pipe in a few years....
Went to dealer today for fuse recall and looked at Challenger first it was auto, if I got a Challenger it would be stick second the rear tires were toast, with as little miles as it has it seems to have been abused quite a bit.I know since it is a SRT it would not be babied but with so little miles the tires should not be that bald.
That 3.91 gear outback doesn't help. My 392 Challenger I sold had bald tires hehe. It happens I guess

I drove a 2012 R/T R&T and then a 2009 SRT8 right after and they both pulled the same to me. The '12 was fresh off the truck and would likely get better with miles and the 09 had about 25,000 miles on it AND exhaust. If I was blindfolded I'd swear they had the same engine :2cents:
I then took out a 6.4L Super bee and THAT made a nice difference![]()
fwiw, most magazine articles put the 2011-2012 R/T at 5.2-5.4 sec 0-60, and the previous gen 6.1L SRT8's in the 5.1 second range....
Without a doubt, I would NOT do it. The new R/T is dang near as fast as the older SRT but you loose all the new features and interior. JMO
I never race against a 2011 r/t or newer. I have raced a 2009 which is rated at the same hp as you guys and maybe even a lighter. He owns a stone white Daytona. And I walked on him. So unless 2011 has something else in it to make faster. They're not close to same speed. However I absolutely agree about the interior. I hate 2010 charger and older interiors. Especially the school bus steering wheel.
