If this is done RIGHT, it'll be sick. But builds like this can turn quickly to the trashy side as well. I hope this fairs well to the first. Eager to see.

title had me excited. pictures took that away. not feeling the fender flares. why not just throw on some bushwackers and save a ton of money. i understand there's a lot of work, but the flares aren't doing it for me. nor are the wheels. a vehicle like that needs a bit of sidewall meat to go with it.
but that's me. if the owner likes it, that's the important part. either way, i'll be watching to see the final result. i hope it looks better than i'm thinking it will.

i think this thing is coming along well but there is just one thing that still bothers me with these widebody cars and that is the amount of body filler that has to go into one.
i paid large cash for an all steel car with a bit of aluminum thrown in there for good measure.
now while these are all fabricated with metal there are so many chopped pieces in there it scares me a bit and then the amount of mud they have to put on after to smooth it out scares me even more.
i had a rear full quarter replaced on a 74 lemans i had and it lasted about five years and then you could start to see lines on the outside where the welds had been. it never failed but my only thought is that maybe it hadn't been prepped properly??
that's what scares me about these widebody cars with all these welds. one small fail point and you can ruin a complete vehicle in a short amount of time.
i still think these things look bad ass though!

now as for this jeep. i was wondering if they will be pulling the front bumper out the way they do the rocker panels to match the flares on the front or will they have to cut the bumper and mold in a piece from another bumper to widen it enough to fit?
and since my knowledge is limited here on these how are they going to make it into a two door the way they are building it now?? looks like they need to cut the door and the pillar section to pull them way back but in these pictures it looks like.... well i'm not quite sure?! are they actually making the doors longer or just creating a two door from the stock size front doors??
just trying to picture how they are going to pull this all together?
on the passenger side it looks all crazy like while the drivers side shows more how it will look afterwards. it sort of reminds me of a half size chevy blazer the way the rear window is.
well i guess we just wait to see how the progress comes along!

It's good to see that people with more money than brains still exist. Without them throwing their money at crap like this I fear the economy would be in far worse shape.

Quite the opposite friend. I make very good money and I don't believe in spending it on nonsense.

Its one thing if this is going to be a show car that will bring in money, but my guess is someone is spending at least twice the value of the vehicle to mod it and in turn will lose his ass on resale because cars are not investments, and butchering one up because "It's cool" is a similar mentality to why the economy is in the crapper to begin with.

Don't get me wrong. I think having the skills to do this is freaking awesome, and I'm sure the end result will be spectacular, but to me it is a complete waste of money to throw at a vehicle that will have no value in 3 years.

Unquestionably true and I agree whole heartedly but to play the devils advocate, I know it's on a smaller scale but how many cell phones, TVs, or computers have you purchased in the past 15 years?

Point is, truly, most all the money we spend is on trivial BS, not like the days of our parents or grandparents. Have to wonder what effect that really has.

True to some extent. I personally do not own a tv and haven't since 1997. And my company has purchased my cell and computers for the past 6 years. So those things do not impact me.

My money over 40% goes into savings and college fund for my kid. Own my home so have no mortgage, only utilities, insurance, gas, and car payments, I don't even have or use credit cards, thus maintaining a very low income to debt ratio. My child's future is my investment.
