    Brakes screamin at me

Anyone else ever go through this with thier Jeep
Only 15,000 kms on it,,, 2010
Heard some noise frome the brakes for the past couple months from time to time, the normal Brembo squeakyness and louder from time to time
So I brought it in a couple weeks ago and they did a "break service" and said they were fine.
I went to work for a week and the temperature dropped huge here wayyyy below freezing. Took the Jeep out tonight and the Brakes are fu ck ed
    Sounds like metal on metal

Common for the Jeep's to go through brakes that fast ?
Why are they still running flat rotors on the Jeeps and not slotted like the LX's ?

Mine are doing the same thing. I have 16000 as well. I think it's just the salt/sand that gets in-between the rotors and calipers.

Brought it in today for the second time and they did another "brake service" lubricated something i guess
So i'm driving tonight and guess what ? Extreme squeling again, not just squeking but loud enough to here from 100's of feet away. F'in embarrasing

The big fix to that is to change them to the CTS-V rear pads and problem solved. Been running mine for a couple of years now and not a squeak ever since.
I got mine from tirerack and I got the rear CTS-V ceramic pads from Akebono.
Many GC SRT8 owners are running this set up with much success. You won't be sorry.
Plus... another advantage is that the rear rims will be brake dust free now, at least it will be much better than with the Brembos.
If Akebono would make a front pad for our Jeeps I think I would change them in a heartbeat.
