He replaced tstat and drove around and said still running hot! He did say that he found that the hose had come off. Also he can't see the cooling fans, but does jeep have one fan or two like our LX cars?
Is his hs speeds working?check the fan relay switchs

We need more info here. Heater hose blow-offs are somewhat common, especially if the radiator cap has been changed. Is that what happened? If fan relays are not working, then that could cause overheating that could cause an overpressure and hose blow-off. Relays cab be bypassed to test for proper fan operation and diagnose the issue.

Can you hyperground the leads to the mason jar and get even more torque and hp?
What's running hot? The Jeeps normally run around 215*. There is only 1 fan, if it's getting that hot, you should easily hear it running. The connection for the fan is on the driver side near the bottom of the fan shroud; I highly doubt it became disconnected, but you can check it. If the hose did pop off, there is a good chance there is air in the system.

I agree, probably air in the system if the elbow blew off - but that should clear up after a few days of driving. If not that, probably HS fan relay. Went through the same thing last summer. Replaced the radiator, fan assembly, upper and lower hoses, swapped from Motorad to Jet t-stat, reverted back to stock radiator cap (recommended)...finally checked the HS fan relay...$700 later, it was a $7 fix.![]()

Thanks guys for all your help. Before I could post more information for y'all, the post saved the day!! He changed the relay and burped the cooling system and everything returned to normal temps. All is well!!! Now I can try and run his a$$ down hahahaha!!! LXF is the best.
Thanks
