Living with the Corsa Extreme 6.1 cat-back?

Has anyone upgraded from the Sport 6.1 (or older non-named model ...aka Mopar cat-back) to the newer Extreme 6.1 model?

Just looking for an objective comparison for a daily driver. I am tired of the low chugging RPM drone of my B&B with this high flowing Arrington 426 and want a nice aggressive sound under WOT or part throttle......and am wondering if the Extreme will be too much bark for city / hwy driving (I know it will be nice at the track lol).

Want a nice rumble at low crusing/City speeds (say 1500-2000 rpm) and then sounds like a muscle car when you get on it......best of both worlds right lol!

Also....new owners of the Extreme can chime in. I know everyone "loves" their purchase and says it is the best thing out there, but would like to hear honestly if anyone finds it too aggressive or annoyingly loud or just right.

    Thanks!

i run the "sport" version of the corsa's..... very nice system for daily driving..... zero drone, mellow under normal conditions, very aggressive under wot.

my neighbor has the extreme corsa set up. significantly louder at idle, normal driving, and screams at wot!! too loud for my taste, although it does not drone for a system being so loud. i drove in the car and was impressed. still too loud when i am on the outside of the car!! lol

I'd love to have the extreme instead of the sport but with cutouts I've kinda got the best of both worlds. If you buyt the extreme and don't like it I'll swap ya, hows that lol
I'll keep my money, guns, and freedom, you can keep the change.

Thanks! Exactly the type of feedback I was looking for. I am leaning towards the Sport.

Ya I stood beside A.J.'s beast with the same set-up on the dyno last week without ear plugs and my ears are still ringing lol! What a bark!

Thanks! Your set-up is what I am looking to possibly do if I decide to go back to headers.

Quick question.....did you loose much bottom end with your Kooks? I used to have Kooks on my 6.1 motor and found it took away some bottom end and made the WOT feel stronger. I also had codes and scraped now and then with the Kooks cats.

Thanks for the offer and I may take you up on that! How old is your Sport?

I didnt loose any bottom end. My verter takes care of any dead spots. It really pulls on the big end. I haven't scraped yet but it's definately possible

I had the old Corsa on the car and it was too loud.....REALLY LOUD......went back to the B&B (which is half the volume and with gears you never get into that "bad" spot), and if it fits around the 8.8 might go back to a stock 6.1 catback next.

Ya the Billy Boat is an excellent exhaust.....top quality in every way, but with my current set-up it has a drone/resonance vibration in high gear around 1500 RPM (city driving at 40mph) that becomes annoying after a while (no where near the drone that my previous Magnaflow had btw!).

In e-mail communication with B&B, they explained if you are using aftermarket higher flowing heads/cam or a stroker, their system wasn't harmonically designed for this arrangement (was design for stock 6.1 package).....so you will get some drone at times. Hemiwagn actually met up with the B&B folks and asked them directly and got the same answer (low chugging RPM drone was annoying for him as well on long trips).

I still love the sound on start-up and WOT with the B&B and have lived with the drone for 2 years, so it isn't real bad, just annoying to me now and time for a change.

Eric is right....if you use auto-stick in the drone area, it can be minimized.

If I go with the Corsa, I will keep you in mind for the B&B sale as the pipes/mufflers are still in excellent shape....a reflection of the quality for sure.

went from the stock srt8 exhaust to the extreme...like it a lot...just keeps getting better...the best part is that there is not any drone...at least that i can hear or am aware of...comfortable just cruising along, but system lets you and others know it is there when you get on it...so i am happy with it...just my 2 cents on it...
