Just throwing around some ideas lately and would like some input from what you guys would like to see from a customer standpoint.
here is what I'm thinking about building for myself. nothing to crazy
413 ci shortblock (5.7 based) at around 13.5-14:1 compression. ported eagle heads, a cam on the rather large side, I'm thinking 24x/25x 113 ish lsa. we'll pick that after crunching final numbers. 4k stall converter.
at first I would like to run it with the standard ported 6.1 intake and stock driveline. then later, prossible next season converting to a powerglide/solid rear/ sheetmetal intake and larger cam to support the new found rpm limits (5k launches/8k shifts ftw)
will be an e85 engine while in DD form, and for customers a smaller cam would be better suited for a DD. e85 being as popular as it is lately can make a lot more n/a and boosted power if the engine and fuel system are built for it.
Basically the goal would be around 600+ rwhp from a 5.7 stroker on pump e85, and 650+ after converting to a more effeicent drivetrain and intake
That would be a crazy build and I would love to follow that build

How do you obtain shift points that high?
High Comp 392.
the tcm is what hasn't been cracked, and also what limits our rpm. the engine rpm can be set to whatever you want the 7k limit is from the tcm. if its gone then you can do whatever you want.
that would be 2012 at the soonest. would run on quaffie 3.23 rear and stock nag1 until either something breaks or next season.
What about the possibilites of a stand alone controller?
Very high compression ratio??? Is that because of the use of e85?
That sounds exactly like the build I've been thinking of, minus the e85 part. What kinda numbers would this setup produce with the compression ratio lowered a bit to run pump gas?
Depends on many componants. The ci alone isn't worth that much hp. With the right setup 525+ is possible. Less than perfect driveability would be a side effect though
Just your on the right track... I'm using a 05 truck PCM custom wiring harness and a 727 torque flight transmission. The only thing that's gonna stop me from spinning the hemi to the moon is the valve train. I'd like to see a 5.7 based 440 stroker.

I'll probably stay n/a until the car is fully built and then who knows. It would need new sleeves to throw anything major at it, the stock blocks seem to fail at a pretty high rate over 1000 rwhp.
for a 5.7 based car the max right now is 434ci, I wouldn't punch out the block that much with a 4.25" stroke, stay around 4" bore for a 427ci. which isn't out of the question. I'll be doing this pretty soon so we'll see when it comes time to make final choices on componets
Now you can power both your race car and yourself with booze. I like the idea! E85 is pretty much a hot rod god-send. I'd be kindof curious though about maybe trying even higher compression. Hemi chamber efficiency is pretty high, I'd think you could probably get up to 15 or 16 with good E85. could probably do 17:1 on E98 with a big enough cam to drop some dynamic compression.

Sounds cool justin. However unless you plan on taking some more weight out of the car. Be prepaired to break parts leaving at 5k rpm.
With a solid rear and a glide I don't think he'll be breaking anything but records. I don't think I'd run a glide though at that power level. I'd probably rather use a TH400 for the better gearing.
