We built this engine to complete in the 6.1 Super Stock class this year. The 6.1 category is limited to no more than 6.19L. What we did was take the 5.7L block, bore it out to a 4.00" Bore and installed a 3.69" crankshaft to achieve 6.1L. We are using the oem crank and modifying it for the additional stroke. Here is what we do to the crank.
*Magna Flux Inspection, Check TIR, Visual Inspection
*Offset Grind to 2.000 Dia, 3.690 Stroke
*CDM ( Controlled Displacement Micro ) Polish Prior to Nitride
*CDM Polish After Nitride
*Final Insp. & MPI
The pistons are Wiseco custom pieces with 19cc Domes for 13.5:1 Compression, gas ports for improved ring seal, GFX rings for strength and minimal drag.
The rods are Manley Pro-Series Tour-lites which are close to 100 grams lighter than our std H-Beam rods.
The camshaft has .650" of lift both on the intake and the exhaust
The heads are our Apache Mean Street Heads
With this new engine, we hope to run 10's at full class weight.

Blow it up and trailer it home!!
Yep, Team Alcharger is pretty pumped about this 6.1. Of course we have a long way to go from a short block with pretty pistons and a long list of fancy parts to meeting our goals.
Unlike the currant PWR 5.7, which is good for N2O or boost, this 6.1 is a purpose build. We have learned a thing or two this past year we can apply to the 6.1 and speed up the dial in process, we can only hope. LOL
Many THANKS to Andy. I've gotten to hang out with Andy during the build process and see how much personal care he gives each and every engine with his name on it. I better understand why my 5.7 has been rock solid from the get go!
Wow. Looks sick guys. Georgeous engine.
Great Job Andy.
