How far South do I have to move...

...where the damn trees don't shed their leaves?

I spent a couple hours in the yard with my boys last night cleaning up leaves. When I woke up this morning, you would never know we picked up a single leaf

Pacific Northwest. Fir trees, cedar trees. Moved here from NY. Own 10 acres of land. Don't even own a rake ! And.. no sidewalk to shovel. ... But, in the spring, I have to get on the riding mower twice a week !

Since you are in CT, does that mean you get to be the human toboggan in the winter?

All depends on what kind of trees you have, we even have trees down here in Florida that drop their leaves.

I planted 3 Live Oaks in my backyard 15 years ago - bought them at K-Mart for $13 apiece-- they are absolutely beautiful now (and, on paper, they're "evergreen"), but they too shed their leaves once a year (with new leaves right behind the old ones) and one right now is full of acorns, which are a PITA in our pool -- the pleasures of living in suburbia

Buy a leaf blower. I don't have leaves, but my neighbors sure as hell do. That'll teach 'em to go to church on Sunday.
