What is the reasoning for effectively eliminating the aftermarket modding capability for 2011 and up vehicles? Don't get me wrong... I / we (SHR) are diehard MOPAR people. It is just frustrating that daily we have to tell people that 2011 and up Chrysler vehicles have to stay stock. Oh and yes we know you can mod 2011-12 Fords and Chevrolets.

Maybe you could void the powertrain warranty and sell some sort of software key per vehicle? What do you think?

Look how far this community has come since we have had tuning capability! Did you think you would have LX's knocking on 8 sec 1/4 mile passes? This will NOT happen on 2011 and up vehicles without tuning.

I fear if you do nothing, Modern MOPAR vehicles will disappear from racing, magazines, car shows, etc... And Ford & Chevy would be all that is left. It would be a repeat of the 80's.

are there going to be any advancements to the pcv system on the hemi's especially since you guys are going to put out a supercharged 392. are there any possible ideas as to ventalating crank case pressures. IE for blown or boosted cars where it becomes a problem with oil seepege ect.

2009 6 Speed Challenger Arrington forged 6.0L stroker Magnuson blower

I've noticed in my data logs from the drag strip that my car is losing an exorbitant amount of timing after I shift gears and it takes 1.5 - 2 seconds to start to recover. I'm talking single digit timing after a shift here and it's killing the 6 speed's ability to perform on the track as compared to the auto.

This isn't isolated to just my car, every 6 speed data log I've seen is doing the same thing.

Can you give some insight on why this is occurring on only the 6 speed cars and not the autos? Is it torque mgmt or something else and can you give any insight on how to defeat it? The car is in dyno mode, which I thought defeated all torque mgmt?

Auto cars with similar mods are running .5 - .7 better ETs and I believe this has a lot to do with it.

Here's a screen capture of a data log showing the issue. Note the car dropped to 4.5 degrees of timing after a shift and I'm at WOT. Green line is actual spark cyl 1 pid, purple is throttle blade position, and brown is MAP. The highlighted area of the log is the 2-3 shift point showing 4.5 degrees of actual timing. Car has ZERO KR.

Is there a stop-lock setting in the TCM that stops the converter from locking and if so at what stall rpm does it stop the converter from locking.

Is there any way around this besides getting a tighter Converter

I've heard from some that the newer Mopar TCM for SRT8s will raise the shift point to 6800. Do you know if it is programmed this high or is it just luck that some folks are able to hit this at the track?

With the above frustration in mind, will the super charger that Chrysler/Dodge eventually puts on the 392, be stuck with a canned tune or will it be open to the aftermarket for custom tuning? Will there ever be a 426 SRT?

    Durango SRT8

Would love to know if there is a possibility of the SRT team taking on the new Durango. Deploying soon, will be buying a R/T Durango. But, if there is a chance a SRT8 version count me in.

    HEMI 6.4L engine related questions:
1- What are the intake & exhaust ports sizes?
2- Why did you space the throttle body away from the intake manifold, when the 5.7L and 6.1L have their throttle body right next to the intake manifold?
3- Will the GC SRT suspensions and brakes fit into the Durango R/T?

    Engineering and Design question:

I found that my Chrysler 300 has 2 different headlights.

The Owner's manual says for a 2007 that i should have BOTH Outer and Inner Park Lamps (194NA's)

The Passenger side doesn't even have wiring going to the back of the headlamp assembly, nor does it have a provisioning for the outer light to be affixed to he assembly. (no holes)

In which year did they switch from using a single dual function bulb for both turn and park light functions to having that plus Outer Park lamps in the Headlight Assembly?

I figured that since the SRT team works so closely with the Chrysler products and has access to info that we may not, that they may be able to shed some light on this unique situation.

I'm aware that having been a Budget Rental car before I got it, it may have sustained F.E. damage, and Ebay is plentiful with salvage parts.

I Simply want to know where the difference in years occurred and if you have any part #'s handy they would be greatly appreciated. This is for a 2007 300 Touring.

Thanks and keep making bad-a$$ vehicles!

(I think a 20" reproduction of American Racing/KMC's Nova Machined/Black 5 spoke would be awesome with an SRT touch)

    Mopar Parts:
1- will the 3.91 axle from the '011 Mopar Charger fit into the 2012 SRT8's?

2- When is the 2012 Performance catalog coming out?
3- I know you don't talk about future productions, but give us just a hint:
Is there a chance we would see the parts of the Redline concept & Kurt Busch being offered for the rest of Charger owners?

Why did you go one step colder on the 6.1L plugs? I have an 06 C SRT. Would a colder plug be any advantage for me?

^^^clearly not an SRT question. GO TO YOUR DEALER!! Or search on the forum. This is specifically for SRT vehicle questions.

What he said. I'm curious, which of the "new and improved" suspension components would fit my '06 and make a noticeable difference? Also, is the 2011 SRT steering wheel retrofittable (is that a word?) to the earlier models? Thanks!

    car: 2010 SRT8 challenger 6-spd w/mopar coilovers & mopar sway bars.

question: on aggressive cornering maneuvers the car exhibits post-apex steering effort increase (almost like lack of power assit) while unwinding steering angle/wheel. Increased effort is also accompanied by a type of grunt/low freq. short duration hum/sound. normal steering effort returns just before steering wheel & wheels are straight again. no understeer/oversteer present - (i.e. @ corner-speeds below threshold of tire adhesion).

i've heard there may be some type of check valve that is closing in the rack.. does such a device exist in this design? Any ideas what may be causing this condition?

BTW: we're extreamly proud of all your efforts and results this past week in Germany (Viper ACR smashing ring record) and in Canada (Targa Newfoundland)!!! GEAT JOB - KEEP IT UP!!

    Two suggestions:
    1. for the Challenger, allow the rear seat headrests to fold down out of the way to improve visibility. Many of us never have back seat passengers and this would be a great feature. This would also allow the front seats to be moved back further when the rear seats backs are folded down when hauling something larger in the trunk.
    2. Charger SRT8 - offer all-wheel-drive (AWD) like Porsche does on the 911 but don't raise the ride height like you do on the Charger R/T

    Thanks, Rob
