    Block shaved:

    Intake fins clipped and shaved:

Both heads are 5.7 heads (bottom are my PPP heads with intake port matched to 6.1 - top are Franks SS heads)

Two sets of phenolic spacers needed right now for clearance:

It's too late for me to go 6.1. I already have Skippy T. whipping up some of his airbrush magic on a eagle intake for me.

Ok Val, those spacers are .100 thick. So no problem bud. Also those spacers don't seal very well by themselves. If the thickness is enough and you don't want to spend any additional money. Coat them with copper head gasket spray. That'll seal them up nicely.

Also if you want, I have a set of GSM phenolic spacers that I'll make you a trade plus some cash for those. The GSM units are still in good shape. And I like having the Bwoody spacers around for the occassional blower build ported head problems that come up.

But you'll need to see how much hood or strut bar clearance you have with the original spacers. Then figure on another 3/8" to 1/2" of additional height.
The Bwoody direct port plates are very close in size to the original spacers, but I cant seem to find them anywhere anymore. Plus I like the quality of the Billet Tech stuff. Hood clearance isnt an issue as I have a shaker hood hole in my hood. I cant/dont want to mess around with my CDC shaker anymore so I have some ideas to cover the hole. Interested in hearing ideas or if a drilled out plate/spacer could be made.

Well I should start off by telling you these new units are not made by BT. BT makes killer products and I'll miss working with them. But being on the other side of the country can be problematic at times for both parties. So I have a new manufacture local to me that will be making several new products.

I'll be honest. I have no intention of using a one piece plate. IF I do this, it'll be a waffer design.

Well, in order to keep this thread on topic, just send me a PM if you think up something. At this point, ill take a direct port plate, a faux 2nd fuel rail system that disperses nitrous, etc

With an Eagle intake and Eagle heads going onto my '05 5.7... Is there some shaving that is going to be required?? Either on the Eagle intake manifold or the actual motor?????? (looking at pics above)

I've only cleaned up the ribs on the manifold. But other guys have had to hit the block. I think it all depends on how "off core" (thick) the casting is. But neither one is a big deal. When you lay the manifold on the heads you can see if you need to do some more clearancing.
