Canucks Rant

Don't usually rant like this but i'm going to do it anyways...

I had the pleasure of attending this past Saturdays game, spent a lot of money to get into the gate for less than stellar seats, but I didn't care because I am a diehard canucks fan and was willing to do it. Sure we lost the game but the atmosphere alone (for the first 30 minutes anyways) was great. After this point is where things started to go wrong, we had 2 fans in chicago jerseys sitting directy in front of me and my friend, they were loud and enjoying the atmosphere as much as everyone else, when the nucks went up 2-0, I bugged them along with the others and they put their heads down and nodded, however when they went up 3- 2 they got up and started hassling us. Which was all in good fun and I thought it was hilarious....

However as we started getting dominated some idiotic morons, decided to start swearing and hurling racial slurs at the chicago fan...and we were in a section with a lot of families, as the game progressed they start hurling beer and popcorn at the 2 guys and the swearing has escalated to obscene personal attacks, i'm sitting right behind these guys and of course i'm getting a lot of the crap being thrown, so I stand up and tell the guys to cool it, let them just enjoy the game...so I become part of the attacks...which i'm not one to take...but i'm not going to get kicked out of game that i just spend a lot of money to be at...these guys actually flew in from chicago...with prepaid tickets from craigslist....got scammed....still paid an arm and a leg to sit in the upper bowl...and to get that crap ...is just stupid.....was pretty damn embarassed to be a vancouver fan at that point.....

So point of rant.......to all you guys and to anyone you know....pass the message along....be respectful at these games....people pay hard earned dollars for these tickets and don't need to see crap like that......just enjoy the game for what it is....a game....

That really blows, if anything I'd expect to read that story in the reverse (a**hole Chicago fans harassing the Canadians). Props for speaking your mind, regardless of who the visiting team was, that's bulls***.

WOW sorry to here that man...I agree with everything you saud that just plain pathetic ive been to tons of games and have also witnessed that first hand..It sucks that people have to get like that when everyones just there to cheer there team on regardless of whos playing..Its people like that that give us canucks fans a bad name....On secound note GO CANUCKS!!! This is looking like it could be a great series..Game 7??

I took my daughter to a Canucks game when she was 14. The patrons beside us were hammered, obnoxious and foul mouthed, and they couldn't care less who was around them. I ended up reporting them to one of the security people after trying to get them to tone it down a bit...they were quickly ejected from the game ...everyone around us clapped....
When you spend literally hundreds of dollars for a night out watching professional sports, you don't need it ruined by a pair of jackasses.
My daughter now knows who Marty Turco is anyways....

For sure guys, really ruins the whole night....I have no problem with getting drunk and cheering your face off...hell i was loaded and yelling to the point where I can barely speak today. Just keep the comments and beer to yourselves....

I was in Edmonton for a canucks vs oilers game and those fans were so respectful....canucks blew them out of the water but we all just had fun

wow that is stupid and also I have seen that but when I saw it I was in phoenix and went to a phoenix coyotes and minnesota wild game.
and there where drunk people and phoenix was losing and the fans were getting pissed off and actually throwing stuff on the ice and they had to stop the game for 20 min because they had to clean the ice.
Both games I have been to in vancouver we won them both so the fans were happy I guess
