Who's Valve body should I buy?

Seems there is at least a couple out there. Looking for one that will sharpen up the upshifts, without putting me, (actually more worried about the wife!), through the windshield during normal downshifts.

$2K for a TCM is out of the budget for the time being, I have too many other mods in the works... so a valve body / Mopar TCM maybe what I need?

How much difference is there between the original un Banditized '06 SRT TCM, and the Mopar TCM? What are the differences if anyone knows, and is it a worthwhile mod on a modified, head, cam, LT header ported intake 6.1 that may soon see a little nitrous work?

Feel free to start new threads for discussion!

    Thanks,

    Don

    Don,
Quite frankly, the Blue solenoids are VERY hard on the downshifts.
    I'll be happy to supply the part numbers....about $ 160 per....2 req'd.

I have a valve body mod that is easier on the downshifts and only increases the pressure to the solenoids on the upshifts.
PM me if interested, I'm NOT in the valve body mod business, typically this is only done on the NAG1's I sell.

    If you have a pre-'07 I would start with a MTCM. My reprogrammed TCM's (07's +) start at $995.00

I have a 06 srt8, PPP Heads, Cam, 426, etc. I currently have the Mopar TCM with the stock transmission. The MTCM defieately makes the transmission shift firmer and quicker than the stock TCM. After driving my car and then driving a similar modded srt8 426 with stock TCM, I really noticed the difference on how much better my car performed.

Guess I'll have to price the Mopar Performance one again from my dealer. Does it raise shift points? Any other anomolies that make it act differently than the stock TCM other than when you are banging on it of course?

    Thanks Bill,

I'm going to PM you soon, just trying to learn the right questions to ask and an understanding of how these things work together so I don't sound so stupid when I'm asking them!

OK, Im kinda late to the party here in the whole transmission game....

But, how much does a Mopar TCM cost? Will it work with my 07 R/T?

How much does the upgraded valve body run?

Not that Im seriously in the market right at this particular moment, but Im just curious. Gotta keep updating "the list" ya know.....

Just under the steering column, behind the plastic panel. Takes about 5-10 minutes to remove the panel, double side tape the MPTCM to the stocker, and switch the connections to it......

No flash required - just a learn procedure that you do on a back road somewhere. The MPTCM increases shift firmness, electronically increases stall (for use with a higher stall converter), and will lock the converter up sooner once out of first gear.

Not sure what the HHP TCM does. I thought they may have been earlier production TCM's that were more agressive than the later models.
