I'll comment on the Quaife, since that's what I have in my Charger.

I've had the Quaife for almost 2 years and it's been flawless. It's also my understanding that Quaife is widely used throughout NASCAR.

When looking at available LSDs I chose the Quaife because of its innovation--it doesn't use traditional spider-gears for lock-up. In actuality, the Quaife is active all the time. When driving in a straight line, the Quaife distributes wheel drive 50-50 to both wheels. However, when taking a tight corner, the Quaife shifts to a maximum 70-30 drive ratio with more drive to the wheel that has the most drive, which is usually the inside wheel, rather than the outside wheel. This enables me to have better acceleration through curves, especially at higher speeds.

The only downside is the price tag.

It's expensive. It works, but not as nice as a true locker......still trying to get used to the feeling of the rear end walking side to side on the drag strip as the power transfers, and what ever you do make sure you have good axles with it......the track record of a Quiafe surviving long after a busted axle isn't very good.......in fact I only know of 1 car that still has the original quaife after a snapped axle.

did you ask jeff when his units will actually be available.
if you think you will get that getrag in 1 week or 2 weeks, youre highly mistaken

dont ask me how i know.

if youve already got the 3.06 id probably just go with the quaife, but you just have to be wary of what Erik mentioned.

yup the quaife is a nice piece for what it is. I have a detroit trutrac which is about as good as they come IMO for our cars. I also race almost every wkend too. I race with a few of my close buddies that have quaifes and they have no complain about them... of course like erik said be weary of the axles though

Anyone have the costs for the Quaife and axles? once I have my 426 installed, I think I'll need both.

If your going to do that I would look into the BuilderBill rear end......the Quiafe runs about $1400 + install and the axles are $2499.

^^^^Erik, if I'm not mistaken, the issue with the Quaife damage has been the pinion due to the overloaded torque when an axle breaks...is this not true? Or, has there been other interior damage?
