Quaife Install - 215mm Carrier Bearings

When installing a Quaife with the DSS axles do you re-use the carrier bearings or purchase a new set. If you purchase a new set, where do/did you get them from? Apparently, they are unavailable as I tried to hunt them down today and nobody can get them and/or nobody has them. So, I have to assume that you re-use the existing set. I've been told that a general rule of thumb, is that when you remove any type of bearing, that you replace them and not re-use them. For the record, the stock bearings did come out of the carrier unit extremely easy. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I would clean & inspect the original bearings.

If it ain't broke ya cain't fix it.

If you need bearings they are available from Benz, but I think the 215 is out of the AMG parts bin so hold onto yer wallet!

I went to Mercedes and they were unable to cross reference the "Tinken" (the manufacturer from France) part number. They also told me that they would sell me an entire rear assembly for $2500. I went to the Dodge dealer and they said that they would sell me the entire rear assembly for around $1600. I called Mopar Super Center and they said they can't get them and that I should call Richmond Gear. So, I called Richmond gear and they said that they can't get them and that all bearings have been allocated to Mercedes. I called HHP and they don't have any and don't know if they can get them. Stu from Inertia couldn't get them. I went to Beardsley,(a local Bearing shop) and they said that these are special bearings and they couldn't get them. I called God and he said that he couldn't get them either. So I am going to re-use the stock/original bearings
