    OK You Power Masters......

who has had Unplausable Speed Sensor Codes pop up???
The codes are for LR, RR and Vehicle Speed Sensor
If you had codes pop up was it due to:

    Missing Toner Rings?
    Bad Toner Rings?
    Other?

Had a shop swap a 3.06 carrier into a friends RT today and the car did not like to move and/or shift into any gear above 1st.
Don"t know for sure yet but maybe cause the SRT shafts did not have the toner rings swapped over from the stock RT halfshafts.
I guess we may find out in the early morning.

    Any thoughts Power Masters???

Trying to help a friend out here.

Must have at LEAST one abs ring on...or car no likey.

Transfering them over is VERY easy...and would have been a 3 min job had they done it before the install.

My good friend is kinda sad right Now. We was thinking that since the 3.07 was not programed in before test drive Hal went into limp mode. But after serious thinking out loud about this we thought about what you call.............................

"Would have been a 3 minute job"...................before the install.
I went a ahead and grabbed 2 off some other rt axles to be installed tommorow if the tech Needs to swap them over.

I guess I saved the tech maybe 1.5 minutes tomorrow.

I got the left rear wheel code... i had the rings off and on some custom axles, then back on to the stock ones, so I'm assuming it got damaged in the second transition. I do have two rings though.

It must be the tone rings.

Improper ratio programing will not manifest itself until you hit 3rd gear & remain in that gear for several seconds. It will give an "improper ratio" code, not the one you are getting.

I am the "Not Happy" RT owner... They didn't bother to transfer the toner rings on the initial install... We gave him the toner rings to use this morning and the shop owner told me his mechanic was busy on another vehicle repair that the customer had to have today... apparently he rates that customer over me in spite of the fact that I had told him I had to have my car back last night but didn't get it back due to the limp mode problem. He told me that the mechanic will be able to start on my car later this afternoon and was promised (first promise to be finished yesterday is now apparently null and void) it would be fiinished and ready to go today before they close. If the mechanic had simply laid a stock axle next to the SRT axle going on the car and compared them it would have been obvious that the tone rings were missing - impossible to miss in that scenario but apparently he didn't even look the axles over but just slapped it in.
I hope the rest of the job including the underdrive pulley install was done to a higher level of quality than the axle part of the job. I just KNOW they are not going to charge me another dime for this 'extra' work they are having to do.

Possibly the reason the other customer's vehicle is taking priority over them completing my install correctly is due to the fact that they already have my money paying for the job and they haven't collected from the other customer yet... That and since I am already unhappy and the other customer isn't yet I guess they figure what's a little more unhappiness for me as long as they keep the other guy happy.

I guess the silver lining is that we now know at least what the problem was instead of worrying that they screwed something else up on the car...

well, it kinda sucks, but the other side is....they did what they were suppose to do. At least this is an "easy" fix.

    Good luck...btw, you're gonna love that 3.06
