How's your install going? I have a question tho, the mounting bolts in the rear of the center sections are alot farther apart on the new LSD than the orginal V6 center is there holes on the body side of the car to mount that too? Or can we just make the hole if it is not there? I have not had mine up in the air for awhile so have no clue if the set ups are the same or not, and soon as the weather is nice I am going to get under mine and take a whole alot of pics. I so need to get rid of this 2.87 gear ratio as it makes me such a slug off the line until the boost kicks in.
This may the set-up I go with for my car if the center from a V6 Challenger with a 3.63 won't just pop right in. Still doing my homework on that one.
ModernMuscle Supercharger 11.5psi, Procharger HO intercooler, Tail 50mm BOV, JBA shorty hedders, Ported T-body, Ported Lower intake, Getrag LSD 3.73, Predator Tuner, Zommers cat back with x-over, lowerd 1.5" and rolling on 255/45/20"s, Dyno numbers 305rwhp 275ftlbs and 13.25 at 106.11mph in the 1/4.
How in the hell did you do that to the diff?
OK Got the Getrag, axels, and hubs in. Ran in to a small snag though.
Notice how far apart the bolts go into the Getrag compared to the stock diff
I come to find out that I need a bushing that goes into the subframe or chasis ( not sure on correct name, see pic )
$30.00 bushing and $10.00 bolt
In pic you see 3 bushings. The 2 on the left is where the 2 bolts bolt the stock diff into the chasie. Right bushing is the new bushing to bolt the Getrag to chasie.
Drilled 2 holes in trunk to get to the bolts. It was a real pita to get acces to tighten the bolt into the new bushing and Getrag
Here trying to line up Getrag to bolt it in new bushing
I dont have a Hemi so I imagine that this LSD kit being for a Hemi that the Getrag would bolt right up. But when putting this LSD kit into a V6 you need to get this bushing and bolt. This should have been included in the LSD kit. Getrag, axels, hubs, bolt and BUSHING
So anyway got the diff installed aswell as the axels and hubs. Was getting late so had to stop. Will try to finish tomarrow evening.
to be continued
Almost 4 weeks without my car felt like 4 months.
Well it's DONE finaly hooked up the rear suspension put on rotors wheels hooked up the preditor change gear ratio from stock to 3.73 loaded 93 Oct. tune and went for a nice ride.
I took it easy though. Ted from AllUSA from where I got the LSD kit from told me take easy for 500 miles or so to break'er in. He also told me Im the first he knows of that put an Hemi LSD kit into a V6. :headbang2:
I really wanna mash on it but for the time being Im gonna baby her. He said break'er in correct to avoid that getrag hummimg sound. Even though I drove her nice an easy I can feel a difference in taking off its deffinetly quicker
Thanks to all who kept up there interest in my thread and kept tabs on how my install was going
