    Leaking Diff Fluid

After breaking a shaft at the track I swapped out for the 09 R/T axels with the upgraded hubs. Been running them for less than 2 weeks with no issues until this morning - I discovered a silver dollar size puddle coming from the left spline side, that had dripped off of the exhaust. Doesn't seem to be leaking at all this morning after a brief drive. I didn't replace the axel seals or flat washer, but they looked fine. I did do several burnouts yesterday... :(

I think the over flow is on that side, maybe the burn outs heated the fluid and it expanded out of the vent.

Check for where the vent is and see if that area is damp.

I just checked, the damp area is isolated to the bottom of the dust seal 1/2" on each side of the drip. Must be the axel seal. Thanks for the suggestion.

What looks like the seal could still be the vent. I thought the seal was leaking on mine too and it ended up being throught the vent.

So where is the vent exactly? Is it somewhere near that seal of the drivers side?

As far as I know, the vent is on the passenger side, at the top, towards the front of the diff.

It's coming from the bottom of the seal, & it's not coming from the top of the differential. Dripping down onto the corsa exhaust, but it's a pretty slow leak. The next step will be to replace the seal & flat washer I guess.

Vent is on the passenger side. The getrag vent may be on the driver but I know the others are on the passenger.

I had the same thing happen. You probably nicked the seal either getting the old one out or new one in.

I have a brand new seal I could sell you dirt cheap like shipping cost and ship it monday. I have the getrag now so I don't need it.

See Brad, if you had the Getrag you wouldn't need the seal either! I think you should just get the darn Getrag and burn out more happy

I have a Getrag 3.73 that is a good deal right now. Only 5 miles on it. But then you may kick my butt at the drags. Also make sure the axle is in all the way, maybe the clip didn't lock in.
