Exclamation Help the LX community - volunteer for free CMR trans tunes

As you now know, I will be trying my best to help the LX community any way I can when it comes to the auto trans we have in our cars.

As such, I need some volunteers to assist with the effort...

The goal... to see how well the CMR software can handle the various motor configurations in front of the NAG1 as well as the limits to the shift firmness and quickness. My personal test platform currently drives like everyone has described, when using all of the various (costly) valve body and TCM mods...so I need to see if this can be replicated in other vehicles...and to what extent. (current testing resulted in 24HP and 30 LB/FT of TQ on my completely stock 06 Magnum...with VERY firm WOT shifts)

We have the limited MTCM...standard CMR tune...and various TCM mods (that have been hit or miss or too darn expensive ( $1200 for a trans tune...yikes...that means a CMR tune should go for 3 grand...wow...!!! ))

Anyway...here are the details: total of up to 4 cars

I need a N/A 5.7 and a 6.1 that must have BOTH the stock TCM and a modded TCM (or MTCM)...for comparing CMR tunes against.

Ideally, I would also like a 5.7 and 6.1 with power adder with the aforementioned stock TCM and modded TCM as well.

***Important note...the TQ management protocol manipulates the A/F ratio to some degree...so YOU must be able to monitor your A/F ratio to make sure it is within your acceptable range and comfort level...as such, you will need to have onboard wideband 02's or a trip to the dyno to baseline a WOT run. It is likely that you MAY require an adjustment of up to 15% fuel when this is complete***

    What I will do:

Take your baseline and mod it. I can alter your rev limit, if you like.
I can also alter your throttle sensitivity as well.
We can discuss additional mods...but the test must be consistent for the purpose of "trans TQ management testing".
Trans mode will need to be in "mode 1" for testing purposes. I want it to only shift at redline when in paddle mode.

    So if your game...I'm game...

    Let's play...!!!

I might be down for that, what do you need from me? What kind of background do you have as far as tuning goes?

I have been tuning Fords, Hondas and Chevy's since the mid 90's with various piggy back and standalone controllers. My forte is Fords.

I have just recently added the CMR software to my resume. (personal opinion is that its really a pain compared to something like AEM...but at least it lets you actually tune...)

This test is NOT intended for "power tuning", as I will NOT be adjusting any timing or A/F parameters that are not DIRECTLY affected by the TQ mgmnt changes.

Selected volunteers will have to send their "unlocked" CMR tune that they are currently running in their vehicle to me via email. I will make the modifications and send it back. You will obviously need to have and fully understand the DS Downloader software for this to happen.

All changes will be completely documented and agreed upon before testing. Test results will become public knowledge at test completion. The only downside is that the tests will be subjective...but most folks will agree that the "butt dyno" doesn't have to be accurate...just able to tell if something got "better or worse"...which is what this test is about...
