Could the 5 speed auto from the SXT and RT be fitted to a 2006 SE with the 2.7l at the cost I would incur if I had to replace the standard 4 speed tranny?
I am not experiencing any tranny problems but am just wondering...I'll hang up and listen.

Same question. I have a 2005 Magnum SXT with the 4spd. I was thinking about swapping in a 5spd auto. Has anyone done this? What all is involved? Obviously I would need a new transmission itself, but what about the TCM? Can that just be reflashed to tell itself that it's now a 5spd or do I need a whole new computer? Any additional wiring? What else? I've searched through several articles but can't find anything about it? Any help?

To Do Still: tint the front windows, wheels and rubber, and 1 MAJOR build going on right now...stay tuned...

I don't know the technical side of it, but it is not a straight out trade... the TCM is definitely involved. Check with nyinstaller over at CM or threegpsi:

i have not done the 2.7 with a 5 speed but i think it can be done. you will need the trans a front section of the drive shaft for a 3.5 motor . also a oil pan for a 3.5 5 speed a tcm and about 12 inches of wire with the wire harness for the transmission. the tcm it would be nice to have the two wire harnesses with about 6 inches of wire or so pretty much what you will recieve if you ask for it at a junk yard. or car-parts.com
for the 3.5 to 5 speed. you will need the same front section of the drive shaft for a 3.5 a trans a trans comp and oil pan for a 3.5 5 speed setup. the wire harnesses apply to both cars, you do not need a complete harness all yoru need is about 12 inches of wire or so from the trans and about 6 inches of wire from the trans comp. it makes things a lot eaiser.

Well i have decide to go direct port and spray some big NOS this season. At first glance i was thinking of just gettting a BB stage II valve body but after talking to several board memebers they say i need to really spring for a tranny hence another big $$$ mod. I was wondering two questions who tranny you would chose and why, secondly where is a good place close to S.C. to get one install that would be cheaper than my dealer. I was thinking of going with AAMCO here in my city becasue they did my convertor install and the guy really seemed to know his stuff but you know chain stores are hit and miss and its really all up to the Tech they have. I would like to think it would be quite a simple job and noone could hose it up but i have seen some mechanics that would f--- up a wet dream. So what do you guys think??
