    carbon fiber driveshaft?

i was thinking about getting a custom carbon fiber driveshaft made. . .

what are your thoughts on this? are there any cons to this? would there
be a problem with the engine revving up faster?

any input would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks.

I know there was a company in Huntington Beach, CA working on one about a year ago. I know someone had donated a charger for test fitting, but never heard what happened after that. Now if I could only remember the name.

I have already started working with DSS 3 months ago to help develop a cheap (around 1k) drive shaft for our cars, But going to a single saft may not be an option. Do a surch and you will see alot of GTO guys, whos suspenshion is like our, have fibration issuess becouse the long lenth of our shafts. So were working on a alumminum option.

Can aluminum even survive the massive amount of torque our 2ton piggies put down plus the new gear ratios?

1362- lou, nathan, and myself can all tell you that a one-piece will vibrate :-) ours came in strong from 65-70mph and again from 130-140mph. at that length, harmonics will bite you.

I just switched out the back piece of my drive shaft for a diff. swap out and I couldn't help think how light the factory drive shafts are, I don't think there's much weight to be saved. Now as far as what DynoSteve did to his shaft, well that's a diffrent story! A few Hemi guy's are going to need stronger Drive shaft's!
