Can we get info in one place about trany slipage

OK, I got my 3.23s installed last night and took my boy for a joy ride,

Anyways it was very plane to the both of us, that my trans is now where shifting like it should. It seem to take for ever before hitting 3rd gear, and this morring going from 2-3 the trans powered all the way to 6300 then lost power to 6000 then hit 6300 then shifted softly

The shifting seems to have a hesatashion right before the shifts, and there ok shifts, but not strong to say the least.

I know there are mods out there than may help. BUT just like in the directions of protorq box, if you dress up a pig, its still a pig. So I would rathere fix the issuess before going even farther.

Also any one ever notice that some times the trans shifts killer, then others it like riding in a ford tempo?

FYI, I am an 07 so I would of tried the mopar tcm a long time ago.

Im also thinking I may have burned the cluches up, as I was using a TB on my car, that after some time, make it feel like it didn't even shift at all. So since its remove, Im happy with the fact I can lighty feel a shift now, but not the hesatashion to shift.

but I can autoshick the car, and hit it, and there is nothing but even in 2nd. If the cluchs were bad I cant see this happing.

    IS this tune, or trans???

    Thanks Iron Mike

HOG, going to Toco Hell for lunch, I floored it on a back street, as always, a 1-2 shift good, stoped for the light ahead, and when the light turned green, the car would not move foward at all, just rev up.

I put in N then D and nothing, I had to restart the car, while doing so I noticed the check motor light was on, according to the diablo, there is no falts found!

    What da hell,

Sigh welcome to the world of having a BUNCH of Power and torque at your feet ? With street tires you attempt to punch it and you will most likely go into LIMP MODE. Gone are days you can punch it on the street.

There have been several threads which we have discussed the point of which these NAG1 will start to feel the wrath of all that power. Your having a 392 stroker N/A puts you mighty close to the edge (525 + RWHP) where modification of the transmission is recommended. Adding a power adder on top will put you over the edge into what will be a matter of time before you need a new transmission.

If you are experiencing issues ... sounds like you WENT over that edge.

As mention there are a couple of vendors that can assist with hardware modifications. Southern Hotrod has the valvebody kits as well the upgraded transmissions. Builderbill with Paramount Performance also has transmissions available. Time to pick up that phone ?

UH oh sounds like the tranny is not playing nice! I am sure that Eddie will be able to help, I actually talked to him about some options for my car last weekend at the SHR meet and greet.

Thanks guys, I guess the 3.23s just made the problem show it head. When they say the trans is good for 500 Hp is that rear wheel or motor???

I just don't get it, I had a 904 manual shift auto in my 71 duster and I forgot to install the kick down linkage, so the brand new trans burned the disk within 50miles from my school. And even once I connected it, and put some Trans X in the trans it slipped all the time not just at shifts.

My car feels fine, intill the shifts, I would exspect it to slip all the time.

ITs was something eles, I haven't yet pinpointed completly.

I lowerd the shifting to 6k and left the RPM up, so now the trans shifts earlyer and not so late, this had coused to happne less often.

I just insalled a killer Paramount Stage 2 vavle body, and the issue is gone!!! The car is a completly diffrent car, I think I just had to much low tq that the car always felt sloppy down low and realy soft shifts.

When I took off the trans pan, it looked great! So its not slipping, and the vavle body has woken up the beast!

I didn't realy noticed the problem intill I had my car retuned, I really think there is some underling tune issue, I wish I could get the Masters At the Big D to look at my tune my self.

I lowerd my trans shift point to 6k and put my RPM rev at 6300rpm. This has helpped but it still happend every once an a blue moon.

I just installed my Permount vavle body, and I tell you that I have not had the problem since. Trust me I have tried.

    My thoughts...

My thoughts on the valve body... the shifts are simply quicker now and don't need as large a buffer between the two settings.
