Question Best 60' w/ a stock torque converter

So I'm curious to the best 60' times you all have gotten out of a stock TC?

My PB is 1.937 w/ 3.06 gears and 27" MT Drag Radials.

Any tips or tricks would be apprecaited.

So here is how I'm launching:
    big burnout
very light load on the TC (1000 RPMish)
    stomping to go

when I load it harder I spin.
I've read Erik's how to so many times I think I could recite it.

The one area of differnce is letting off the brake and then hitting the trottle. I haven't had much success with that technique.

Lisa did a 1.89 on all season radials and 1.68 on 245 Mickey D/R's in the Chally with stock 5.7 and stock converter.

I don't think at you're power level and stock verter, you should be overpowering your DRs. I was spinning last week out there too but have a lot more power and a 3100 stall. I'll bet your 60' would come down with the Hoosier 275/40/17 DRs.

The other thing I noticed was your burnout. It looks cool but might be a little excessive!! I've seen and heard of guys spinning big time with DRs after a huge burnout. If you had slicks that would be a different story.

    Personal Best: coming soon!!

No Jim, you could be right.

I was following some advice that previously I was not doing a big enough burnout. Guess I need to find a happy medium.

I'll try some new techniques next time at the track.

    Thanks guys.

Get er done buddy, and if I'm at the track you're welcome to try my shorter tires. That might be the tenth or two you need.

One dumb, noob question... Jim mentioned my big burnouts...
I have trouble sometimes getting both of my tires to spin, so I have to do another one.

Do you all start your burnouts in the waterbox?
Not in the "deep" water but just the wet part, or do you get them wet and then pull forward to the dry track?

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your input.

No, If your tires are wet from roll through, get out of the box but not to far(it gets real sticky to far out)

start the burnout on the concrete (if your track has it), but NOT in the water.
