    Any stock 6.1's with 3.55 gears, speak out

    i have been wanting to do gears for a while and am not sure to do them. has anyone done 3.55 gears. anything good, bad, or neutral to share about them.

    Big Al has 3.55's...I'm building his next rear diff (8.8)with 3.23's
    What mods do you have?
    The ultimate is going through the traps at max rpm in whatever gear (3rd or 4th depending on power)...

    bill i have high flows, mopar cai, 180 stat, and a cmr tune, and 85mm throttle body. should i do gears or not. if not should i take the money and do something else first.

    gears will make your raped ape look like its doing the raping! as far as 1/4 mile times dont look for too much improvement if any. but your 0-60 should be rapelicious!
    mods: AFE Stage 2, HHP TCM, Paddle Shifters, Lock Pick, Ipod Cable, blinker mod, Billet Tech. Catch Can, Air ram, Predator, EBC Yellow Stuff in front & auto zone in back, Hardwire radar with mirror mount, i995, Corsa Catback, 180 tstat, SVS Tune, Hidgate 6000k lows and fogs, Lighted cup holders, Pistol grip Shifter, blinker mod, custom k-9 insert

    Swaped my '08 Rear assy for the '09 Getrag Track pack LSD with 3.73's...axles too. The little testing the weather has allowed me to do....has shown big improvements! I"m totally stoked for the Up coming track season!

    What were your gains? I have a set of 3.23 sitting on the shelf, but I haven't got to install them yet. I try to do one mod at a time then hit the track to see if it help or hurt.

    I broke my own rule thow, after my new cam/tune and 3.06's/ with new 28" I finily made it to the track.

    I would love to let peaple know what a diff the gear made going from 2.82 to 3.06's but it seems ever fu## time I go to Sealy I have to get towed home!

    Did the gears incresse you MPH?

    I think I remember you saying you are running the 28in M&H's, so with them and the 3.23 where you able to hold 3rd???

    Too much gear can put your rpm way down in the end of a 1/4 mile.

    i gained 2 tenths at the track without changing anything... just based on track prep.
    hard to say if you can really attribute 1/10 to a gear change.
    i would expect a big change in MPH to match that tenth change
