6.1 to 5.7 Rear end swap

Ok so I know I'm new but I have searched and looked trying to find a write up on how to and exactaly as well as what all is required to preform this mod. Or if someone knows where the heck to pick up a diff set of gears for the 5.7 rear. But I think the 6.1 215 would be better in the long run for lots of power and repeated lanches with a few upgrades.

    Thanks

Richmond came out with new gears for the 5.7L in Feb. but called them back and are not planning to release them until May, maybe.... Going with the srt8 rear end is not a good idea for lots of power. You will need the rear part of the srt drive shaft, rear assembly, and rear axle shafts. the srt rear axle shafts are weaker the the R/Ts and have been known to break. I'm currently waiting for the Richmond gears to come back out for my 5.7L. Richmond has 3.55 and 3.73 as of right now for the 5.7L but we're hoping they'll come out with the 3.23 gear ratio when they release the gears in May.

Here's a link to the Richmond 5.7L Rear Gears thread: http://lxforums.com/board/showthread...light=Richmond

Thanks for all the info I think I will hold out until they come out with the 3.23. Those seem the best gear ratio and the closest to what I want anyway. So lets hope I can be happy in may.
