    Fender Well Removeal questions?

I was looking to install my HID fogs today. I am gonna try to go through the fender wells in front of the tires to do it. What type of tool do I need to remove the pins without breaking them and where can I get one?

i would suggest going up thru the fascia skid plate. That way you will not have to remove the wheel or replace the plastic rivets.

I used a flat screwdriver to pry them up a little, then I slid wire cutters under the fastener to finish prying it up. I didn't squeeze the wire cutters, just slid them under the fastener & pried it out with themwire cutters open. I took mine out because they were really hard to get back in place after removing & replaced them the the 2 piece push rivets like it has in the other holes. I found them at Northland Fasteners for $8.75 for a pack of 10, instead of $5 each at the dealer.

I used something very similar when I replaced my front end. I used the type where the center piece screws in rather than the push type simply so that they wouldn't come back out as easily. You can probably pick them up at most local auto parts stores. I got a pack of 10 from a Napa store for like $8.

These are like the ones I used:

Thanks for the offer Robert. I popped the pins out the evening too see how hard they are to reach. Real easy. It was getting dark so I didnt fool with it anymore. Gonna work on it tommorrrow. I will give you a shout if I end up needing to jack it up.

Biggest pain will be finding somewhere to mount ballasts.

Man now that you are an expert I may need your assistance to install HIDs on my low beams. We can use Robert's bay and maybe drink some of his beer at the same time! lol
