    Dragstrip?

Alright so what's the deal with drapstrips around here? What is the closest one around?

Of course there is the strip in Bristol and I thought that there was one on the south side of Chattanooga next to interstate 75. Are these open to the public? Does that small one in Chattanooga even exist anymore? Any info would be great....

I am Done and I am well. Actually, I live in the Nashville area. Bill, that is bit of a haul from Bristol.

Here is a list of the tracks in TN http://www.vansenusauto.com/dragstri...tate=/State/TN

There is also a decent track in Steele, AL.

I Usually go to Music City near Nashville or up to Bowling Green, KY. There is an active group of LX'rs that go to Memphis.

Yeah that might be fun but a 1/4 mile track would be better!!

We should really plan a Tennessee Modern Mopar event for one of those fridays. I think that would be a lot of fun...

So seriously though. I had never heard of an 1/8 mile track before. What is the point in a strip that small? Do people do anything different on a track that short? Let's hear the story for a track that small....Thanks!

Done...Thanks for the info....It looks like Bristol has a lot of events for street legal cars. I had never looked on their site before. I wish there were more 1/4 mile tracks around here...

no there are alot of tracks that are 1/8th mile I would assume they do it because of space? You still get to test your reaction time and how fast your car will pull on the lower end but I do prefer the 1/4 mile so you can get some good top speeds going!

When I went to Nashville last month I saw a track south of the highway on my way home that was not far from Knoxville but i have no idea what distance it was and if it is open to the public or not.

Not exactly sure I was on the highway driving back and I saw it off to the right of the road but it was the middle of the afternoon and it looked deserted so I didn't know if it was still used or not.
