Why don't you just have your AKO e-mail forwarded to your own personal favorite email preference?
From the AKO Homepage once you've logged on.
My Account>Mail Preferences>Mail Options Once that window appears, you just follow the instructions.
You could also IMAP your AKO to go to Microsoft Outlook or Thunderbird.
Hope it helps.

your AKO would not go to private email. it would only go to an account like first.last@amedd.army.mil which is also an official email(outlook) i personally do not use outlook outside of work cos i have no idea how to set it up
Well I was trying to fill out my guard TA app and needed my AKO pass word and login to get in to that site. I have a CAC reader but no idea how to set it up. any one know. and being a Guard Solider I dont have access to a PC with CAC set up except my one week end a month. Who knows how to sent up the email in to Outlook? Could some one do a right up on this? please.

I got my CAC reader working wow. I had all kinds of "techs" working on it when I was @ my last school and they could not get it to work on my Vista laptop but I just got it working on my XP desk top. K I will work on the email thing. I dont have an offical e-mail other than my AKO Mail.

As I stated Outlook only matters if you are trying to use IMAP. The originator of this thread stated that he didn't like AKO and I said that you can forward your email to say a G-Mail or Yahoo or whatever, this is what you said...
your AKO would not go to private email. it would only go to an account like first.last@amedd.army.mil
That is why I posted the picture of how to forward it to commercial addresses. You can have outlook on your home computer, amedd.army.mil is only the domain that you are on.
