LEO's - what rubber is on your Patrol Vehicles??

For the past 10yrs we have used the Goodyear Eagles on ours and they are just switching ours out to try the Firestone Firehawks..... ??? Anyone use these and what do you think about them?

They are M+S Firestones all season and with the Eagles they always went to the Goodyear winter tires and switched them.

I am just concerned they might be just going a cheap route buy using all seasons through the winter

I always thought that winter tires should always be used on Emergency Vehicles for the whole winter -- not an all season?

    anyways -- any advice??

I would think they'd give you winter tires in either case.
Goodyear Eagle (GT?, RSA?) is considered "all season" as well.

Really? All seasons in the winter?! Is this just your detachment or OPP in general doiin this? I think its one thing for city police to run all seasons all year but not the OPP with the amount of country driving your required to do. .02

ya the Goodyear are the RSAs for summer then they would switch them over to Goodyear Ultra grip winters in the fall -- but they are just putting on new Firestone Firehawk PVS? I don't know if it is just my detach and some winner trying to save a buck but like you said Fred -- the County Roads/403 can turn nasty in the winter and the more traction the better!!!

Ok I just looked them up -- the Firehawk PVS -- is a pursuit vehicle snow tire ---so I guess that is the end of this thread!!! lol -- they are winter tires!
anyways I am curious to see how they handle in the snow -- I never had any complaints with the Eagle ultra grips on the snow or the ice!

RSA's and Ultra Grips here too. Blizzaks are approved and get used only when the Goodyears aren't available as they cost more.
