    Firefighters Kick A$$

    Firefighters around the country, members of the IAFF union, have once again continued to set records in collections for MDA (that's Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon for Muscular Dystrophy for those who live in a cave )

    28.5 million dollars!

    Amazing. A bit more than the "1 dollar more" that Jerry sets as the goal each year.

    To all the firefighters on this forum....GREAT JOB!

    Thanks for helping Jerry's Kids and keep our lives safe everyday!

    NO one ever talks crap about a fire fighter!

    Every time i see one on the corner with the boot out-i give what every i have in my pocket [well ] i leave at least a few bucks for myself for lunch and a couple gallions of gas

    Think about how stupid the average person is..
    Then realize half of them are dumber than that

    We catch crap too, just not on the same level as cops. The one I hear the most and it drives me crazy is 'all you guys do is sit around watching tv and sleeping all day'. A lot of people think that firefighters are overpaid and underworked. I would love to throw some gear on them and run them through a structure fire.....

    Our down town hall hit 575 runs per month not too long ago. My hall is up to 375 per month. I wish we had time to sit around and watch TV...between training, inspections hall/truck up keep, equipment checks........
