Spring M&G

I'm ready to start planning our spring M&G and I'm looking for any ideas LXCentral members might have. So far I thought that it would be late April. Also if anyone that came down on that Friday could either do a cookout at my place or even better, dinner at my Aunt's restaurant (no clean up = better). Saturday would be a do what you please in the morning (Bass Pro Shops in Springfield... Branson...etc.) and in the afternoon have everyone meet up somewhere (not determined yet) for the official M&G. After that everyone could go out for drinks or whatever. Sunday morning have everyone meet at Golden Corral for breakfast before heading home. I called the Super 8 motel here in Nixa and I got a quote for a group rate. $50 for regular rooms and $60 for the new executive rooms. The executive rooms have a refrigerator and have a bigger living/bathroom area than the regular rooms. She also said the executive rooms are all non smoking. I'll make more calls. I'm also going to email the salesman at Ozark Dodge to see about having the M&G there. Like I said above if you have any other ideas or comments, let me know.

It could be worse, it could've been in Louisiana.

Thats 400 miles south of here! It would do your maggy some good to get out and let her run.

well I was looking forward to something a bit closer... its not really about getting my magnum on that longer trip. but it is double what, the KC area trip was last year.

so the m&g will be at the dodge dealer most likely and thats on sat evning, is the prking lot big enough.?? if its bigger than last one??

I've only called a hotel/motel here so far. I haven't contacted the dealership yet. I wanted get more feedback first, see what everyone thinks. This dealership has a bigger lot than in Lawrence. Also it is a Dodge dealership, not one VW in site.

I just thunk of something to keep in mind...A late April M & G may make if difficult for those of us who want to go to Branson for Mopars in May. That date is still pending, but last year it was at the beginning of May. If the club went to that, it could mean a "Club Participation" thing from the people who put on the Mopars in May thing. Since that's in Branson, if it happens to be the week after our M & G, I may have to miss one or the other due to finances. It's just something to think about.

They not wanting club participation? I'm open to any weekend. I hear ya on the finances, we were told today, 4 day work week until further notice. Thats going to hurt the old checkbook.

Two birds in one stone lol that would be great but then if you like going to car shows the i would do them seprate if you like getting out but i know times are tight with everything going on.

When you say they dont want club participation thunder do you mean that they dont and you talked to them or you already know or what??

Thats what I'm asking. I haven't talked to anyone. "It could mean a club participation thing from those putting on the show"......do they want clubs to show?

I didn't say they would not want club participation...I missed it last year, so I have no idea what they do for club participation...you know, if there is a prize for the club with the most participation or whatever...they prob'ly do have prizes for that stuff. But since I missed out last year,

I am not sure what they do. All I know is that it's a big deal & I think the whole club should go so we can have a shot at a club participation prize or something like that. I do know that cars are judged there, so I would have to say we would have a shot as a club too. I'll be finding out more in the near future on it...and I'll keep the club posted.
