Hello LXCentral. I know at this time of year most are racing around town after work looking for good deals on Christmas presents. Well I know we didn't have any meet and greets last year, mostly because of the crappy economy. I figured everyone was doing as we were, holding on to every dollar possible in case it got worse. I'm currently gathering parts and pieces and soon will have Thunder in the shop to be ready for next spring. I want to do a couple of meet and greets and thought I'd share my thoughts. I'd like to have a meet in the Topeka/Lawrence area. (I know the area) I've tried to make contact with Briggs (Dodge dealership in Topeka) and haven't gotten too far with emails. I'll be calling them when on vacation the last week of the year. If that doesn't pan out then I can rent out a park in Lawrence for the day and make it an annual event. I plan to be a part of Mopars in May this year. I'm talking with the local hotrod shop on having a show here early in the day and then a nice cruise to a bar&grill that afternoon for another show. (September/October?) May talk someone here in our group about a gig for his band as the bar&grill has a stage and dance floor. I plan on going to LX and Beyond in Ohio around mid July. I also might hit Mopar Madness in St. Louis pending on how things go for us here. Well thats it. Any thoughts are always welcome as you all know.

Cool. I found out that there a few parks in Lawrence you can actually rent out. I'm looking at Broken Arrow Park. For those of us that were at the very first LXCentral get together, we passed it on the way to the dealership.
I'm in for Topeka or Lawrence.

I don't drive the magnum when it gets nasty out (drive Barbie's charger in the winter).
I heard mopars in may isn't happening and monster mopar is up in the air with the closing of gateway international............
I plan on some mods this spring and doing some driving.
Well heck fire. I'm calling Briggs tomorrow. I'm definately doing the get together here but probably not until later in the year so anybody wants to get a hotel can save their loose change between now and then. Looking foward to showing off the new and improved Thunder.
(got another package from the UPS driver today)

I heard a oval track was being planned for Branson. I'd be surprised to see that happening. Just because its new doesn't mean NASCAR will come. Anyway, I'm still working for a Topeka or Lawrence meet in May and one down here sometime in September.
I'm down for the September meet for sure, won't be back in the state till June. Anything after that will be up in the air depending on the job situation.

Thunder, you know you can use me as a resource here in Topeka. I have physically been in Briggs Dodge 4 times in the last two weeks (stupid TPMS system) and will be back there next monday.

Do they give you good prices at the parts counter? I picked up various cam install pieces there a year or so ago, but when I asked for a price on the 6 speed Challenger motor mounts they were much higher then online. The one is Hays gave me a similar price of ~$110/mount. I still need to pick them up to try and resolve my header rub.
