    Durham Chrysler Dealerships

    Gentlemen

I agree Eastway is an excellent dealership, in fact I bought my 300c there, but what do you guys think about the Durham dealerships. I bought 2 cars at Village, for example, at a great price and I loved their service hours which I believe have changed. I haven't done much at Durham or Menzies but they seem to be O.K. What's the verdict?

Can't say Durham impressed me much back when I was looking for my PT showed me everything but what I said I wanted to see then handed me a business card with a hotmail address for thier email..

Menzies to date has done me no wrong bought both the Mag and the Charger there and my Cousin also bought his Ram there. Service dept has been good to date for the minor issues I've had and dealt with Warranty stuff quite well.

Village is where I bought the PT and was great to deal with never dealt with the service dept there though.

Eastway is a lil further out for me but hands down the friendliest parts dept of the bunch. Adam is just great to deal with nothing else to say here .. :P

I have been using Village for years. I had a Caravan that I used for work and needed the late hours of the service dept. Andy in service is real fair and knows his stuff.

We then went back to them and picked up our Magnum from them.

Thier general manager Mike has always been good to deal with and they may become a club sponcer.

But this is just my opinion!!

Unless you had set up costs and install date for 4 steel rims and 4 snow tires, and drive a fair distance to get it all done, just to be told the rims are on back order, have been on back order for some time, and all they have are the tires in stock. And then have the nerve to say well we can put the snows on your current steel rims and when we get the rims in you can come back and have that done.

I can do THAT at my local dealer (which I did in the end) and don't need to make two 140Km round trips for it.

Needless to say, my opinion of Eastway which used to be one of praise, has plummeted.

i don't mean to piss ya off further, nor am i trying to defend eastway on that matter, but i wouldn't have booked an install until the parts were in hand. considering how hard of a time adam's having getting those wheels, you may have had the same problem at another dealership too. just my opinion.

for the durham dealers, i don't have any experience with durham or menzies but limited experience with village. i originally went there when looking to buy a magnum and the sales woman i was dealing with didn't know the difference between and r/t and an sxt, when my wife asked her what esp meant the woman didn't know (i explained it to both of them) and the kicker for me was when the sales woman asked me if the car had cruise control. needless to say i ran out of there.
i did however return there twice for minor issues with the car after we bought it (fog light was falling out on one side, and the weather stripping around the hatch was falling out) and had no problems with them. i took it there because their service was open til midnight (i think it's 9pm now). i take my car to eastway now though.

A lot of thier good people have been picked up at Village.

I was in Village today and had a good talk with thier GM (Mike), and I can't say what we talked about, But I can say that they are real strong on giving great customer service.

If you are looking for a dealer to help you out, give them a try. If you go to service ask for Andy and say that Gord and Hazel(They really like Hazel there) sent you. Mike is a great guy and believes in giving the best customer service.

But that is just my opion!!

I bought a used caravan from Village last year. I got a great price on the van but Village tacked on alot of "other fees". I wasn't to please about. If I didn't get such a great deal on the van I would have walked.

On the other hand I bought my Mag SRT8 from Menzies last spring and I was very pleased on that transaction. I got a great price and no "other fees" were fees were added on.

i was told chrysler close davidson up. they wouldn't renovate the building to conform to chrysler standards or something. kinda like what happened to annandale chrysler too. from what i heard, davidson was given many months notice to play ball, but the employees didn't find out until the day they were shut down. this is all through the pipeline though.

Hard to say about dealers they all have good and bad points and not everyones experiance is the same . I do believe in supporting those who support our club though.

Annadale closed because Chrysler wanted to turn it into a Mitsubushi dealership.

I live in Oshawa and have tried to support Durham Dodge many times. I have bought in the last couple of years 2005 Dakota from Durham Dodge and a 2008 Caravan, a 2009 Avenger, 2010 Challenger and a 2010 Charger from Peel Chrysler.

In all instances there were extra BS items added to the invoices of both dealers. I use Durham Dodge for service because of its close to my house and can get Sue to look after things while Im at work. I wish they would work on their new pricing a bit. Between Sue and I, we have purchased 6 new mopar since 2002.

I have never had an issue with the service at Durham, they have always been up front and are willing to do a little extra. The work has always been on quote, on time and got my cars back without issue.
