    Att: Joey / Throttle Recalibration

Joey this is the throttle recalibration procedure I told you about. It does work. You will always get a slight delay with the throttle by wire but this will tighten it up. I do it when ever I feel the delay increase.

    Throttle Calibration

Throttle calibration can substantially improve throttle responsiveness over "factory standard." Many people notice what appears to be sluggish throttle response or a "dead area" at initial accelerator depression. Throttle calibration can take care of these.
    1) Insert ignition key and turn to "ON" (not start).
    2) Wait for all idiot lights to go out. Check Engine Light may remain on.
    3) Slowly depress the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor.
    4) Slowly release the accelerator pedal until it's all the way back up.
    5) Turn the ignition key to "OFF".
    6) Start the engine.
Most drivers notice an immediate change in throttle response, but depending on your driving style, you may need to repeat this procedure periodically due to the computer's adaptive programming. You likely need to repeat this procedure any time the battery is disconnected.

Well there is a blast from the past. This was first reported back in 2004. It has since been found to have no effect.

Sorry to disagree you 100%. It does indeed work. By the way are you a Club LX member? You can start a chapter in Tn!

Other than a "butt dyno" how can you evaluate?

No, I am not a Club LX member.

Let's make this a test & tell procedure. Everyone who wants to try it do so and post up what you think. In my case as in many others I feel it works. But I have to say there are a lot of guys who swear by it. I had a huge dead spot before I tried it and it did eliminate it!

Interested in starting a Chapter out your way?

I had a real bad dead zone from day one when I bought the car. When I learned of this I tried it and worked! How can I tell! I drove the car for 8 months so I was used to the throttle response. When I tried this the difference was like night and day. Butt Dynos do tell the truth some times.
    The difference was that notable!

other than forum lore, can you link to any publication where this prucedure is outlined?

the only way to recalibrate ETC is with a starscan/starmobile.
Izzy pics money talks. unfortunately, mine usually says... "good bye!"

Absolutely not! Maybe it's just in my mind and a lot of others. For me it was strictly a difference in how my car felt to me. I did not come up with it and by no means am I an expert, just the opposite.
As far as forum lore goes I don't know who came up with it but there a lot of guys out there who feel it works and not just one or two. So like I said guys try it and post back what you think. Should be interesting!

Cool! I'm getting flamed by the famous fnkychkn a true LX heavvy hitter! I'm honored! Been reading his posts for two years!

i've tried it on several LX over the last 3 years and have never noticed any difference. i even tried to trick a customer friend of mine who was complaining of throttle lag/sluggishness. told him i reprogrammed his PCM and replaced a phantom part and that it was all good now. all i did was this recal procedure. he was back the next day saying it never improved.

i don't dispute that you feel a difference, just saying that there is no scientific reason for it other than your butt dyno must be more sensitive than mine.

Mines probably a little bigger than yours therefore more sensitive!

i've had my car 3 years...i still do this about 3 times a year...usually at the track if I feel the launch isn't hard enough....

Not sure I feel the effect anymore...maybe it's placebo...but I swear when the car was stock....it made a difference. Not sure why...maybe it was a set of TCM's, maybe a set of PCMs on a different flash..but I definitely recall the first I did this...i laid a patch on the driveway by accident....never happened before that...and of course I'm more careful now.
