With all the threads I am seeing where we have had folks coming out with great tunes I felt THE OPPOSITE.
I have just gone through a tuning nightmare with every bit of Murphy's Law thrown in. What was suppose to be a simple racing tune setup turned into 2 days of frustration, nightmare and disaster. The total disbelief is that happened not at one of your local "Joe Tuner shop" but at "top notch" vendor location.(Arrington Engines) At this time I will not disclose where I went as there are some things that are being worked out and I want to keep things on the level without going into a vendor bashing thread. (Edit- it is now disclosed)
I am still walking around in a daze as my car is sitting currently at my dealer essentially BROKE. I dropped it off after limping home after a long 4 hour drive from the vendors location. I say limped home because somehow between coming off the dyno out of the shop nobody noticed that
1. The TPS light was on indicating that I did not have any readings on front tires. Came on after 15 minutes on the road.
2. CEL lights ( from the O2 sensors being put back on)
3. Squiggly/ABS/ESP light lit up. ( big problem)
Tune on the car is NOT the orginal and the HP is LESS then when I came there with. ( this I am aware of and had to be done SO I COULD get home)
I realize that everyone was in a hurry being it was late Friday afternoon as the car had been worked on all afternoon to get a workable tune. Now it going past everyones work shift they wanted to get home. Gee thats great but what about me the customer long ways from home?
I do not want to go into great detail on what happened during this 2 DAY fiasco.
I will say that I started this by stating I just wanted a simple race tune and the original tune that I had on the car I was totally satisfied with and did not want touched. Somehow it got corrupted ?
I will say this
1. I lost my original custom tune which I had indicated I wanted to keep.
2. My PCM had to be flashed at a dealer location.
3. I seem to have had not only a bad PCM but but a Diablo programmer as well. Wow think about the possibilities of that happening. My original tuner never had any problems uploading or installing any tunes.
4. Oh by the way...after all of this.... I am still being charged for a tune with the possiblity having another Diablo tuner added on to the as well.
I have spoken to a couple of folks privately about this and they have told me that I should come out on out with it to the forums. I am going to wait a bit until I hear from the "vendor"(Arrington Engines) and hopefully work this through.
