GOOD: Mopar Supercenter
MPSC have been my go-to guys for Mopar parts for some time. Throughout many transactions, both big and small, they have been nothing less than stellar. This is a stand-up bunch of guys. Here are a couple of examples:
- As part of my 6.4L stroker build, I wanted to put a 6.1L SRT intake manifold on top of my 5.7 block. This was back in the day when the manifolds were part of a kit that included throttle body, rails, injectors and hardware for only about $675 complete. I called Jeff@MPSC and asked him to buy me one. He didn't have any stock, but he did have access to one that another dealer had but who wanted about a $75 markup on. I thanked him but told him I wanted to try and get the usual price on it. He promised to look around and I did the same. We were to hook up over the phone again in a little while.
So I look around ... and discover thru a combination of internet and phone traffic that Mopar has stopped selling this kit and is in the process of more than doubling its price. There were literally no more out there to be had in the U.S., based on the parts searches run for me. Except for the one Jeff has, which is still half the new price. So I figured I was screwed. I called Jeff back and he immediately tells me that he has just learned what I have just learned... Its like a $1450 part now. But he's still happy to sell me the one he has for the price he originally quoted to me. He didn't jack the price up one dime.
That is a stand-up guy right there.
- Then there was the radiator saga. Some members figured out there was such a thing as the Maximum Duty radiator - a step up from the SRT Severe Duty II and apparently restricted to foreign sales only... Looks like its meant for Middle-East bound autos. Jeff@MPSC was not only able to get past the domestic-sale restrictions, he also worked heroically with Hal'sMag during Hal's epic struggle to figure out how to deal with that radiator's bizarre, nonstandard lower inlet fittings. Jeff put in a horrendous amount of time with Hal trying out Kuwaiti SRT VIN's, ordering unknown export hoses and whatnot in an eventually fruitless attempt to figure out how the hell Dodge hooked up a hose to that blasted radiator (we eventually built our own fittings). Thanks to Jeff, some of us crazy road racing guys have engines with cooling capacities that let us run on the track all day and not go much over normal operating temperature.
The above are just two of the things I have bought from MPSC. The list is quite a bit longer. These are just two of the standouts.
