Bad: Hammer Automotive ...About to get ugly

Just warning you guys about hammer automotive...After 2 months of waiting on my product that was supposed to take one month to get I asked for and was told I would have my refund last Friday...Friday has come and gone and I can't get anyone to respond to my emails or phone calls. I know they have had some troubles lately but he shouldn't have promised something if he couldn't back it up. The least he could do is communicate with me. I noticed he had time to post on your forums today......kidat46....Dodgetalk

big surprise. they are not taking anymore orders for the CF intake until they are caught up. I know it is a popular product but i dont understand how a business can operate when your only able to make a handful of ONE product per week.

Hard to have faith in the vendors in here after you hear all of the horror stories. At least you can count on Billet Tech as they have always been excellent to deal with each and every time.

I'm not defending hammer, I waited a bit just for my mid steel, but you have cannot compare BT's products and Hammers. If Hammer could make his on the CNC he would, but its harder when you can't do it in house, and the product he's making is a very hard piece to mass produce where as anything that is billet aluminum all starts with a ....Billet hence the name. AS for customer service, well there is a bit to be desired.

not sure who you are emailing, but I was on vacation from Aug 25th thru yesterday, so if you emailed me that is why you got no response, I am catching up on those emails today.

most people don't realize Hammer is a 2 man operation, 90% is Rev.Hammer and I try to field the customer questions and concerns.. but I have a full time job and a part time gig, Hammer I do for free as a friend and favor to Scott.

that is why we only make a handful a week..

as for the refund, I have no control over that, Rev. is the only one that handles the money, however I will call him and ask him what is up..

k.. I don't have a list of screen name vs. real name.. sorry if that got confused..

I already called Scott, expect a call or paypal transaction in the morning (or both)...

sorry it went down like that, he is only one man... and does work 3 jobs plus trying to make something of Hammer..

not an excuse mind you, but it is a reason..

Thank you. That's all I've wanted was to get a refund. I've got the emails as proof if you or Scott need to see them. I'll be at work tomorrow and he has my paypal address. If he makes it right I'll go back to all of the forums I have posted on and let everyone know...and this is not a surprise to Scott...I told him if he didn't keep his promise and refund me last Friday like he said I was going to do this.

I ordered 2 carbon Air Hammers myself, and don't know ANYONE in this forum at all, but after so many testimonials, AND Marc communicating with me throughout, I'm trying to give them room to breathe and get this fixed. Am I nervous? Sure! I have a lot of money tied up in this, but I feel that giving them even more grief certainly won't get my AHC shipped to me any sooner! Just my .02.

Slowly but surely Rev and Mr. I and the former employee Wheellife have all been very helpful with an issue I had. Not defending what's going on right now, just saying, they have worked hard to make this customer happy. And once things get caught up, I would do business with/recommend them again without a doubt. Scott seems like a stand-up kind of guy who is doing his best right now to get out of a deep hole. I think the biggest problem was he didn't expect this quantity of orders, lol. Too much work can be good and bad when your a small shop. I however have to completely agree that money shouldn't change hands till an order is ready to ship since the delays have been quite long.

My only word of advice, is either be patient, or ask people who have an AH if it was worth the wait, I bet 95% of the people say Yes to that. And if you can't wait, there all always other options....

I'll admit, the Rev took a long time to deliver my 'Hammer. I ordered it with something like 90 days breathing room before last year's Route 66 Fest, my biggie for the season. Scott was good about communicating, but the delivery date kept sliding. In the end, he ended up subbing me a stainless for the aluminum I ordered and overnighting it to me so that I had it in time. Just in time, sure... but in time. He stepped up and took a hit so that I could be ready for the show (which I made clear I needed to do when I placed the order). I couldn't really ask for more than that. I'd give the experience one and a half thumbs up :-)

I can say that I sympathize w/ Scott for chasing his dream and hitting all the stumbling blocks along the way. In the end he'll make it right. It just takes them a little longer than most people would like. Rest assured, your money didn't vanish, and Scott's not kickin' back in the Bahamas buying mohitos w/ your mod money.

Scott has been in touch with me all along the process and I choose to be patient.

It WILL be well worth it when it arrives and I am hoping that will be any time now based upon our last cionversation.
