    Bad - BMC Performance - Catch Can Braided Lines

    On 10/06/08 I placed an order for catch can braided stainless lines with red/blue fittings as well as the Breather line, matching description for the CAI.

    The UPS shipping tracking information showed a 10/10/08 delivery date.
    At Noon on 10/10/08 I clicked on the tracking info to see if it was already at the front door or still in route... I see a note on the UPS Sytem:

    A CORRECT STREET NUMBER IS NEEDED FOR DELIVERY. UPS IS ATTEMPTING TO OBTAIN THIS INFORMATION

    Grrrr, call UPS - nice customer service person puts the correct address in, 1335 Blah St, not the 1225 Blah St. I check the invoice, and they have it correct there...hmmm
    UPS Brings the item back on Monday 10/13/08.

    Open the item and realize I goofed (not BMC's fault). I ordered the 6.1 kit rather than the 5.7 kit. Crap - call BMC and figure out what my options are.

    Meanwhile I noticed that of the 6 blue/red fittings on the 3 lines, there are numerous scuffs/scrapes on the colored coatings.

    I called BMC on 10/14 and place the order for the 5.7 kit and determine I will ship back the 6.1 kit for a full refund (minus the $11 shipping).

    At that point, twice, I stated the issue with the previous shipping goof and make sure 1335 is the address, not 1225, etc...
    I also mentioned the fitting scuffs and scrapes.

    I finally get an order confirmation and shipping information that shows the order was shipped on 10/21 - a full week later.
    Should arrive on 10/24 - except this morning, about 30 minutes ago....I see on the UPS tracking site:

    A CORRECT STREET NUMBER IS NEEDED FOR DELIVERY. UPS IS ATTEMPTING TO OBTAIN THIS INFORMATION

    Called UPS - again - and looks like I'll get this stuff on 10/27 unless I drive and pick it up from UPS - which he isn't sure will be possible.

    Again, another $11 shipping, plus I have to ship the 6.1 stuff back.

    I'll be anxious to see the quality of the fittings on this set. I'll post pics in a bit and conclude this diatribe of getting this stuff.

    No axe to grind against BMC here, just very displeased with the way this transaction has transpired. Edits forthcoming as this concludes. I simply hope the product this time is up to snuff when it finally arrives...and that my shipment back to them (to the proper address) gets refunded in a more timely manner.

    Well, ran across town and was able to get the lines this evening. Only one fitting is knicked up, on the blue portion.

    I'll ship back the other pieces and be done here. Must say the shipping for $11.00 isn't bad if it was protected. I think the fact they are just coiled into a plastic mailer maybe the reason for the knicks and such.

    Regardless, I'll deal with it. Just installed them and will snap some pics in the morning. I've had the engine super detailed since 3 weeks ago when I expected this to be a nice touch. Looks great!

    First of all, I am sorry for this situation. To be honest, I'm not sure what to say as you said you don't have an ax to grind with us, yet the thread is titled as a "bad" one. I'm sorry for any misunderstanding about any of this, as I am the one who makes and ships the braided line kits and was not ever informed there was an issue with scratched fittings or your address. I was aware that you ordered the wrong kit and that you would be sending the first one back, but didn't know about the fittings being scratched or that we had your wrong address. (Mikey may chime in here as he is the one you spoke with several times, but I wanted to address this as well.)

    Please let me know if the fittings aren't in perfect condition and I will send you replacement ones (still in their individual packaging) on Monday. I'm sorry for the inconvenience of the UPS delivery and again was not aware there was a problem until I saw this thread tonight.

    I'll be at the shop all day tomorrow, so please call if I can help you with this. 877-BMC-RWHP

    I first want to echo Lisa's comments here in that I am sorry for this situation. I just want to touch on a few things here real quick.

    On the scratched fittings, honestly I was unaware that the fittings were scratched. If I had known I would have never offered to send you new lines instead of the full kit. We want to make sure these kits not only look great, but perform flawlessly, so there would be no way I would have made a suggestion that would leave you, or any customer, with fittings that were not in perfect shape. I also explained that we were waiting another batch of fittings to come in with red/blue fittings.

    On the shipping address, while on the phone with you when you repeated the shipping address to me I looked it up and that was the exact shipping address we had in our store, and I told you this as well. If I misunderstood you I apologize for that and take full responsibility.

    Again, I am sorry for any confusion with the kit.
